Thank you for killing football.

How is defense more important than offense in football? Just curious.

I'll take a great offense over a great defense every day of the week. It's easier to find weaknesses in a defense when your offense is capable of anything.

This is literally the exact opposite of reality.

Great defenses beat great offenses almost every single time at every level of football.

Wish the teams that played the Seahawks could figure this out.

Explain the two teams playing tonight then. Or Auburn in 2010.

A defense travels. Sets the tone. Creates an image for your team and program. Will keep you in games. It's easier to rely on an offense to make a drive in a slugfest than a defense to make a stop in a shoot out.

Look at LSU 2013/LSU 2012.

Defense kept us in every game in 2012. In 13 it out pressure on our offense. When the offense didn't produced we were fricked.

Of course a small baby school program like Ole Miss not used to success would rather offense because they need some sort of excitement over there.

Well, OSU is up right now because they've stopped Oregon twice, not sure I agree with you.

Cute little jab there, lil tigah fan It's adorable you think LSU is still a major player or program in college football

If this were the case, then how come teams with great offenses and mediocre defenses win championships year in and year out?

Same reason gay marriage and any kind of societal change pisses people off. "IT AIN'T HOW MAH DADDY DID THINGS! IT'S WRONG CLETUS!!! THE DEVIL WORKIN I TELL YA!!!!"

The average fan cares more about 200 plays run a game in a hurry up manner than actual hard hitting football. In 10 years the base formation for teams will be the 5 wide spread.

I think the average fan cares about winning games no matter what style it is. Yes a flashy offense is more enjoyable to watch then a tough defense we no offense (IMO).

But what is your complaint here? Who are you blaming? Do you just want all offenses to line up in a power I formation and run run play action? The defense need to catch up. Football is an ever evolving game.

In the NFL this is true.

In college football, defense has been the king in the BCS era. Auburns defense was not horrible last year and kept them in a lot of games.

Defense, defense, defense.

Oregon has been a player for well over a decade in the college game without a great defense. So has Boise State and Ohio State.
