This was one of my business ideas I turned into my professor my senior year of college. I ended up scraping it because I didn't think the demand would be high enough, I clearly was wrong

Yeah you mean right next to the stadium in the best spot, while people who've setup there for years were pushed out.

Yea, I got pushed out. Then I saw the benefits. They do a phenomenal job with it, and they look fantastic. Plus it helps keep those tailgate areas even cleaner.

Tailgate guys is available in College Station, but there's no requirement that they be used. I just pulled up Texas A&M's tents policy.

There is no requirement to use them anywhere, as far as I'm aware. They just have a deal with the Universities that they get a designated spot where only they can set up.

Thanks!

This pissed our group off. We had the super secret parking spots, then Tim Jackson decided to make all university parking paid parking.

So no more Southern Traditions? The people that I know that used them, liked what they did. But, as a non-user, they were allowed to encroach more and more on folks traditional spots. But, it's all about the money and common folk be damned!

Southern Traditions is the company owned by the MSU professor that won the contract. Apparently, although he was pricey, he was also the only one who could consistently provide good service to his customers. I think the university did this because too many people were trying to get into it and most of them half-assed it or didn't deliver what the customers paid for. Lot of people complained about shitty satellite service, generators that ran out of gas frequently. I could care less because I don't tailgate. I park in the Cotton District and my family and I walk in and watch the game and meet friends at restaurants afterward. I've never liked the stress of tailgating. It's become too much about flagrantly showing off in front of everyone. It's embarrassing to me to walk through the Junction and feel like I'm in the middle of the Groooooove. Got a killer deal too on a Polaris Ranger after a dumbass took out a $17,000 loan to one up all his buddies on game day only to have the university ban golf carts/LUVs from campus. man that dude was mad.

Word on the street is that there was an incident of a child being injured by a golf cart being driven by a teenager. The child's family was not sue happy and The university decided to get in front of it before someone got hurt and sued.

It was ridiculous how many golf carts were zooming around MSU on game day. It had to be done.

You really can be obtuse at times. You come on here bitching about something and link an image of something other than the one company that the school will use. How hard was it to find an image of Southern Tradition tailgate setups?

Tailgate Guys is a company out of Auburn with an amazing story. They are making Bank.

Their story from the Web Page: We started with a pickup truck and two trailers in a backyard. That was the spring of 2009 in Auburn, Alabama. By fall we were hosting 53 groups every game day. Today, we host more than 300 groups at Auburn alone

There's only one company of the University of Arkansas that's allowed to do that for a while now.

Just looked at the Southern Tradition and the 2 layouts at State and they have 200 spots. Assuming everyone did the standard minimum with no extras (which is not likely) at $3,500 a spot, that's $700,000 per season. I think they also have Ole Miss and LSU.

Some of the upgrades are ridiculous. You can easily get up to $10,000 per spot/per year with just a few upgrades; bigger tv's, yeti cooler, extra tables, chairs and tents.

We all pitch in and pay some students to set up and take down, then bring all the stuff ourselves. I just don't see paying $3,500 a year for 7 games. You can buy what comes with it for a fraction of the cost and use it year after year. If their is an exclusive provider now, I assume that cost will go up.

you sir, are old school. I love it.
