Hopefully this along with a the new network will help the hype.

The exact opposite may happen.

Do you get more national exposure on ESPN or SEC TV? The downside to the pay model is fewer people watch.

@ramzy: Still trying to understand SEC pride sharing. I think it's like getting a venereal disease from a toilet seat & bragging about getting laid.

When you wish for everyone to suck, you get what the SEC currently is in basketball.

Really? Every one of the comments seem accurate to me.

If the SEC is so top-heavy in football, why did 10 teams go to bowls with seven of them winning (the most of any conference) in a "down" year?

It is a good thing to hype this.In the future we will get more than an insulting 3 teams in the tourney because of it so it might help YOUR team next year.

This. Goes in cycles. If the SEC starts scheduling decent OOC games and winning their share, the combined success of that plus doing well in the tourny will give the committee reason to put more teams in

When your bubble teams all shoot themselves in the foot in the final month, none schedule quality games OOC and your bad teams (like AU) are atrocious, no wonder we only send 3 teams.

A10 has a bunch of teams that have had success in the psat and schedule reasonably which is why they did so well

an easy target but still funny

anyway, doesn't the SEC count as being 7-0 in the NCAA tournament to date? Tenn is 3-0, UK and UF are 2-0.

As usual, though, fans of SEC also-rans are claiming the glory of two historically superior programs. Same thing happens in FB.

4 different teams have at least 2 or more NC game appearances since 2006

LSU beat Kentucky at LSU dimwit!! It's good 3 teams are doing well, but I would not say SEC is a dominant power in basketball, get real!!

I agree with you. I always thought the sec network was a terrible idea.
OSU and UT fans have gotten the shaft with their networks. I expect the same to happen to the sec fans and teams :(

Screw the rest of the SEC. Scruffy hopes all of you lose at every spot for the rest of time.

If this were to pass, are you OK with LSU becoming the next Witchita State, Boise State, Louisville or any of the other mid majors that play crap schedules and have limited to no credibility for not playing anyone.

This is what baffles me about the "I hope you all lose every time" crowd. If you were playing in a conference that was actually that shitty then what would be the point? You might as well just join the SWAC and call it a day...

Alabama definitely did NOT play a crappy OOC schedule. It would have been nice if they managed to win a couple.

They require you to play a respectable OOC schedule.
