I was under the impression he wasn't moved, he requested the change

Eta: and by that I mean chiz didn't call him into the office and say rob we're going to try you at running back tomorrow because you're a good runner

I just don't think Chizik would just let him change positions like that.

Why not? He's a college kid and should be able to play the position he wants so long as he is qualified. For what it is worth, Therezie was a very good RB in high school. It's not like the guy has never played the position or was some kind afterthought at RB position in terms of a recruit. He dominated when he played RB, but he played both ways and his HS coaches used him more as secondary player. I say if he wants to play RB then he should have the opportunity. His life. Coaches can't make him play in the secondary if he doesn't want to be there.

Yes, Lutz can replace Trooper, who will now be joining Rod Bramblett in the radio booth.

So the players should get to make the depth chart?

Why? Is this the part where you try to impart some half baked life lesson over the internet and I ignore you, mainly due to the fact I don't take anything a stranger says to me seriously (that's my lesson to you, btw).

Look, I made two points:

A)The kid was actually a very good RB in high school. He dominated there, so it is not inconceivable that he can actually play the position and play the position well in college, so the move shouldn't be at all shocking unless you know nothing about him or his high school career.

B)It is counterproductive long term to make somebody do something that they don't have their heart into. That being said, I have no idea if that is the case. It may be that the coaches want him at RB and he actually wants to be a DB. Who knows.

The point is that if the kid (as a great RB in high school) wants to try his hand, then he should get his shot. Like I said, it is his life. Nothing wrong with that and I'm surprised anybody would have a problem with it.

Why don't you try reading the context of my statement. I realize this is a lot to ask for the typical guy on the internet. I said if he is qualified (which I think he is and apparently so do the coaches), then he should have the opportunity. What is wrong with that? It's not like they are moving a 300 pound DL to RB. The coaches moved a 175 pound kid recruited as a DB who happens to now weigh close to 210 pounds and who also happened to be a stud at RB in high school.

Did vangorder not have a voice in the position switch? I find it rather odd that a DC would not at least attempt to keep a player of Therezies caliber on the defensive side of the ball. I also find it odd that Therezie made the decision to switch to offense, especially the depth that auburn has a RB.
just very odd that vangorder didn't appear to fight to keep Therezie on defense.

Van Gorder hurt his wittle feelings when he tried to teach the softies how to tackle. Therezie quit the D. auburn is so short on numbers they had to put him somewhere.

Not sure it is a big deal, but PM would not publish this if he was not sure...

Who knows if it is permanent, an experiment, etc...
