I'll ask again. How many National Titles does Auburn have? UGA? How about SEC Titles?

But you are the ones claiming superiority, we are just responding to your dumbass claims.

Consensus National Champions•1980 (12-0-0) – Vince Dooley coached the Bulldogs to a perfect 12-0 season, including a 17-10 victory over Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl to win the National Championship. Georgia finished as the only team with no losses and no ties and was declared No. 1 by almost every poll.
•1942 (11-1-0) – Berryman; DeVold; Houlgate System; Litkenhous; Poling System; Williamson System.

While 1942 is nto a true NCAA Cham[pionship, it was recognized by all the major polls. You can leave it out if you want, but MOST people would count it.

Wrong. It's because Ole Miss won the SEC in 1963, so '64 was the first year of the Big 6 run of SECCs (not including the KY outlier).

Ole Miss is truly the last non "Big 6" team to legitimately win the SEC in 1963. I wish more SEC fans knew that the Kentucky "claimed" SEC co-champion title is less legit than Ole Miss claiming the 2003 SEC West Title.

In 1976, Georgia went 6-1 and beat Kentucky. Kentucky went 5-2 losing to UGA and MS State. The following season MS State had to forfeit all their games, so KY got to "claim" a win over State. Since they then had the same record (6-1) as UGA, they "claimed" a co-champion title along with UGA, even though they lost to UGA and on the field went 5-2.

For our respective lifetimes, Auburn, LSU and UGA should likely all be bunched pretty close together

Actually the ALL-TIME win % for those teams are ranked 12th (LSU), 13th (UGA) and 14th (AU) with UF coming in at 16th. They're separated by a total of 0.02023 points.

That's pretty damned amazing considering that takes in over 100 years of football.

No we aren't. here is my first post of this thread:

We understand that...but you also have had some pretty lights out years....and, MOST georgia fans understand we have been very frustrated National Championship wise. In short, we think we would be at th bottom of the Big 6....yet firmly in it.

The biggest advantage is having the title of "the University of Georgia" when going after Georgia recruits. Even Tech faces those issues.

If only everyone grew up a Uga fan and we could offer all 100+ d-1 players every year, then you would have a decent point.

It really is. As much as we bust each others' chops abotu who ranks where in teh conference, we're basically splitting hairs as that group of 4 is really pretty similar.

There's no denying that AU has had some great teams over the years here and there but when they are bad they are usually beyond awful. I have never seen a team that can be so bad one season and so great the next and repeat that so often.
1981-5-6
1983-11-1

1992-5-5-1
1993-11-0

2012-3 and whatever

Look at the CFDW all-time rankings. LSU at 9, UT at 10, UG at 11, UF at 12, and AU at 13. That's pretty amazing (especially for program who wasn't worth a shite until the 90s like us).

The issue is not the recruits themselves, it is surrounding population that effects recruiting the most. Being the State University is a big advantage.

Because Auburn fans are not guilty of this, right?

NOBODY sees their own fanbase in a negative way. Auburn fans are every bit as guilty as Georgia fans are. You don't like Georgia, so you notice it more.

Beign "the university of georgia" is nice, yes. But I'm sure I don't have to point out there are 8 big time football schools, a few of which are elite, all within an hour of our state border. Over half those programs are less than 3 hours from our campus. Also of note is the sheer amount of good HS talent in state. You can't get them all obviously...so while we may get 3 or 4 studs, there are probably 10 more who go play somewhere else. While the natrual rhetoric would be "why didn't UGA get those 10 guys!?!?!" it's a pretty easy numbers game if you think about it. And lastly, Atlanta is a transplant city. And getting more so. People travel from far and wide to live in Atlanta that have no roots or ties to Georgia whatsoever. Just because a kid goes to Hs in Atlanta doesn't mean he grew up a UGA fan. Kids growing up around baton rouge or auburn or tuscaloosa....HIGH probablity they've been there for a while and were born into it. Not so with Atlanta.

So basically, yes it's nice to be the flagship of the state. But that fact alone doesn't mean we hsould automatically be reeling in the top 15 prospects in state every year.
