Asking for a friend, because I think it's fricking hilarious and am definitely laughing at you, not with you. As is all of texas, louisiana...basically any state with more self respect than alabama or florida. So all of them.

You sir are a goddamn idiot...

I'm just laughing at the fact that you honestly believe this is a one sided story. There are plenty of instances of Auburn fans acting like complete douches, just because someone is wearing a simple Alabama shirt. But you guys want to be totally oblivious to it, and keep demeaning Alabama.

It's also fun to see how quick Auburn fans are to make any topic about Alabama. It's almost impossible sometimes to even try to talk sports, when nearly every discussion has to lead to Alabama somehow putting Auburn down.

If he had gone to auburn and interviewed Tammy I would have felt the same way. That he was using her not out of fun like Finebaum does but out of derision and humiliation to make fun of her. I don't like people outside the South coming here and making fun of our citizens to try to make themselves feel superior.

If anybody ever deserved each other it's the condescending , hyper-self-conscious, self-appointed Cultural elite of The Daily Show and the mosh pit of hyper-myopic redneckism that is Alabama football.

I will not go into every time I have had a bama fan be rude just because I cheer for Auburn. That incident was just the most insane. I will not go into every story about sitting and listening to one gump family member,or another, go on about how "superior" bama is.

I actually thought you were being pretty reasonable in this thread at first but your line is starting to sound a little too biased. I grew up in Alabama. I haven't lived there since the mid 2000's but I come back for games and family all the time. I was in Tuscaloosa for the Cam-back and remember countless Auburn fans celebrating/cheering openly on the strip without being bothered. From the talk of people like you those people should have been shot in the streets. I took my Auburn gf to the 2012 49-0 beatdown in Bryant-Denny and the entire masses of evil Bammers seated all around us openly tried to make her comfortable the whole time, offered up their blanket as she was cold, etc. I have never personally witnessed one incident in everyday life like the several you just rattled off. I have no reason to suspect that you are a liar, but I wonder if you bring some of this upon yourself? Or perhaps it's the company you keep? Of course I see the horror stories on the news (Updyke, murders, etc) but from my experience, that shite just doesn't happen around the lives of, you know, normal and well-balanced people. As I said earlier, my theory is the type of person who screams the loudest about this stuff doth protest too much. Ie,they are typically the ones who are part of the problem, not above it.

Exactly. That is my point. The bama fanbase has far more irrational people in it than most.

Well sure I do. Being rude is not a prerequisite for an instate rivalry. Ribbing is one thing. Rudeness is something totally different.

But it keeps happening in YOUR life, which is my point. You just rattled off all these examples of poor Bammer behavior, it makes one wonder if YOU are the common denominator, and that YOU are part of the problem by either instigating shite or keeping shitty people in your life. Like I said, normal, well adjusted people don't poison trees or kill people over football games, but they also don't interact with those types of people either.

I'm reminded of all the posts I see around here (typically from LSU or Auburn fans) which go like this:

"LOL- listen to what my dumbass (cousin/neighbor/coworker/friend) bammer said!!!"

Instead of thinking that I need to answer for the dumbass in question, all I can think is: "well, sorry you have a shitty family/neighborhood/career/friend."

Yeah, it was my fault I was buying Auburn gear.

It was all of those other peoples fault that they don't cheer for bama.

........or, it may just be that the point people are making about a lot of bama fans is that they don't know how to act sanely.

The point is that Auburn isn't an instate rival of UF or FSU. Why would their fans waste the time and energy? When it comes to dealing with each other though, I'm sure that many are less than cordial.

As far as the Bama/Auburn rivalry goes, you're kidding yourself if you think that all of the rudeness and hostility is one sided.

I was laughing when Finebaum announced this program's taping several mths ago. When he listed all his regular callers, and that they would be "on" Comedy Central, I knew exactly what would be produced for the rest of the nation to mock & laugh at. Finebaum back then was almost giddy with happiness, as were all his callers. Now, they are all storming the walls & screaming like mad children. Finebaum kept shaking his head & saying, over & over, "this is what the rest of the country will be thinking of the people in Alabama". Not sure what he expected.
