I haven't even watched and I'm already wincing. Did they manage to mention that Bama's '25 and '26 Rose Bowl wins were one of the first things that Southerners could brag about since Reconstruction?

That video is fricking embarrassing.

Phyllis summed bama's fan base up, "it gives us a reason to say yes we can". How pathetic.

It would be a lot better if you didn't pretend there was any qualitative difference in our respective fanbases. We are literally the same people.

Not true at all! Had you no clue that the Montgomery-Opelika corridor is the cultural mecca of Western Civilization?

How embarrassing. Though picking on the deep south is pretty played out.

It really is a jerk move by Comedy Central. I don't enjoy watching people being set up to look foolish. Granted, Phyllis isn't the brightest bulb but that was a pretty malicious bit. I've got no ties to Alabama and I'm not a southerner by any means, but the main thought I had after watching that was "damn, those producers are assholes." Everyone needs someone to laugh at to feel better about themselves, I guess.

The yanks always do it. They are dull creatures who can't entertain themselves without watching soap operas or searching the brazzers account their moms pay for.

It's shameful behavior and anyone who laughs at that stuff should feel ashamed by themselves. Anyone who isn't from the south, I mean. Laughing at yourself is perfectly fine and healthy.

Is it ok if we're ashamed around other people?

Asking for a friend, because I think it's fricking hilarious and am definitely laughing at you, not with you. As is all of texas, louisiana...basically any state with more self respect than alabama or florida. So all of them.

The very few Alabama fans that actually have Degrees from UA, will emphatically disagree with you.

Bama has a higher % of the "No life outside of supporting (Fill in the Blank) Football" redneck than any other SEC school by far.

LSU Lumps (LSU version of the Bama Gump) are not far behind though.

Yes, they actually believe this, people.

"BY GAWD. ALABAMMER PULLED THE SOUTH OUT OF THE DEPTHS OF RECONSTRUCTION WITH THE FOOTBALL TEAM!"

....and they wonder why we laugh at them.

A couple of facts about your "championships" from '25 and '26.

quote:

1925 National Championship- Alabama claims they share this one with Dartmouth. Who awarded the NC? Houlgate and Helms. Houlgate started his system in 1927. So Bama won their 1925 NC using a formula that didn’t exist until 1927? Helms Athletic Foundation started in 1941. Another incredible retroactive NC.

1926 National Championship- Alabama claims they share this one with 3 other teams with equal or better records! Once again it is the Helms Athletic Foundation in 1941 that awards it!

Sorry, but this is very true, and that is what makes our fanbases a little different.

you're not fooling anyone, Old Tex. You're just riled up because you looked like a fool last night. Don't you worry, once you're safe on the island we'll drug you up nice.

Is anyone really surprised when they see things like this? ESPN has been pushing the "crazy Bama fan" narrative for years by allowing Phyllis and her ilk to call into this show on national television. There's really no other fan base like them in the country.

The liberals are having a crisis right now. I think it's funny that after all their virtue signaling to every group of people on the planet, they have to restrain themselves to deal with their own countrymen, but that was bad. I mean a Muslim can slaughter 50 gay people in the name of his religion and they'll run to the end of the Earth to defend anyone that looks like they could be an extra in the live action version of Aladdin, but some trailer trash in Alabama talks about Jesus, and it's the end of the world. "I don't want you guys to think we see you as a punching bag, we just see your opinions as incorrect". It's fascinating that they can have this double standard and disdain for people on such a deep level. I can tell they tried to take it easy in the actual interview and editing process compared with what they normally do, especially with Finebaum's little quip at the end, but it started with "prejudice & pigskin". Don't get me wrong, I love to call gumps racists and all, but when one of these liberals does it, it's super annoying.

Gumps believe that 7-7 game against Stanford was a win?
