The Houlgate System retroactively selected champions from 1885-1926. And made selections on a permanent basis starting in 1929.

But there were multiple selectors for Alabama in 1925. Some retroactive. Some not. Those included, but not limited to, the BRC, CFRA, Helms, and NCF. All told, among those claiming 1925 and 1926, Alabama has more selectors for both years.

Bama has a higher % of the "No life outside of supporting (Fill in the Blank) Football" redneck than any other SEC school by far.

Sorry, but this is very true, and that is what makes our fanbases a little different.

What really makes the fan bases different is the quality of the football programs they follow.

It would be a lot better if you didn't pretend there was any qualitative difference in our respective fanbases. We are literally the same people.

Keep telling yourself that. It just isn't true.

Lets see...both fanbases primarily reside in Alabama. Both fanbases are fans of publicly funded schools that have huge football programs.

Ya, you're the same fricking people idiot.

LSU Lumps (LSU version of the Bama Gump) are not far behind though.

Which is it? At least in Alabama the uneducated football fans are split 70/30. From Houma to Monroe, in a similar sized state, LSU draws 90% of the swamp rat fan base. The other 10% admittedly belongs to Alabama and that number is growing. I blame Saban for knocking down the fence

By that criteria......Every State that has multiple Universities in it are the same.

Differences in population are the result of many factors. What team you cheer for isnt one of them.

It's so cute you think you're different from the rest of the Alabama populace because of what college football team you're a fan of.

Great post TeLe. I didn't watch the video but I know pretty much what to expect and it's just kind of a played out and easy target. But you are absolutely correct: the hypocrisy of today's liberals truly knows no bounds.

On a side note the responses in this thread are pretty fascinating as wel. I can laugh at these types (even if they're bama fans) but why would I? It's just...easy. I would wager that these types of people hit a little too close to home for the kind of trashy types around here like el duderino and AU4real35, hence the visceral lashing out at this trigger. I bet their family is full of these finebaum caller types, so they take great joy in taking any opportunity they can to display superiority to at least....someone.

He's a giant tool. He always has been, since he started his radio show in Birmingham. Now he's grown and is ruining other great programs, like CFB Live.

It's a shame that guys like Cole Cubelic, who went a similar route, can't get the same attention because he doesn't want egregious callers ruining his show. Rather than have insane redneck callers run your show, it's nice listening to someone who has great in depth knowledge about the game. Every time he comes onto the Jox Roundtable in Bham, I try to listen.

Here is the deal....

I didn't grow up in Alabama. I have no ties to the State whatsoever....other than being an Auburn fan. However, most of my family is from Alabama.

My self-worth has never been shaped by how Auburn does. There are far too many in your fanbase that feel "superior" because of the success of Alabama football. It has been well documented about the amount fans you have that go off the deep end when Alabama doesn't have the success they desire.

You.just.don't.see.that.depth.of.fanaticism.in.other.fanbases.in.the.entire.nation.

What do you base this on?

The past. I am not going into every incident. Like I said, they have been well documented.

When I visit my family in Alabama, I buy Auburn gear. It's hard to find around here. I was in a Montgomery sporting goods store a few months after Auburn won the NC. I had a possibly great grandmother walk up to me while looking at Auburn gear and say "They should be giving that putrid shite away. Auburn sucks". Then she turned and walked off. My parents have had Alabama fans be rude to them just because they don't pull for bama. That is just how it is.... and that is how it has been since bear came around.

Lol, so you go to Montgomery of all places and base your opinion on that. How cute. I can't tell you how many times I went to that shite hole mall in Montgomery and was heckled by some loser gangbanger decked out in Auburn gear. But hey, Auburn fans try to run this narrative that they've always been morally superior to the rest of the country, and there isn't a single insane person in their fan base.

Ugh huh. I am sure that happened. So should I base my opinion of au fans on Tammy on Finebaum or the time I had my car window shattered and antenna tore off because I had a Bama flag on my car at JHS? Or how about the time I watched a grown arse au fan give a little girl in a Bama cheerleading outfit the finger and his friends thought it was hilarious?

Yeah, I am basing my opinion off of one example.

I will not go into every time I have had a bama fan be rude just because I cheer for Auburn. That incident was just the most insane. I will not go into every story about sitting and listening to one gump family member,or another, go on about how "superior" bama is.

I will say this....I grew up around 'Noles and Gators. I live around 'Noles and Gators. I have never once had any of them be rude just because I cheer for Auburn.
