Where in the mission statement is it said to match up the best two teams? I only remember them saying that it was to match One vs Two.

Nailed it. This year the SEC west should get strong consideration for a second team over a one loss power 5 or the Big Ten champ. The Big Ten and ACC are both incredibly weak conferences top to bottom.
