Are we supposed to give a shite? Adidas generates A LOT more revenue for us than Nike ever did or ever would. Why shoukd we care why?

Besides, Nike fricked up the shade of maroon in our uniforms for years.

Actually, they probably are. Tennessee and Michigan both left them this year and they were just about the last bluebloods they had. Adidas' market share of the CFB world has drastically shrunk as Nike has pushed hard to expand theirs and even UA has gotten in on the act. But with Adidas owning the soccer market and there being so much money there, I'm not sure they are very interested in CFB though I'm sure the section of Adidas that is in charge of CFB sponsorships does.
