Actually...I was able to experience the celebration of the world's greatest sport in Germany last year. Was pretty special. Would be happy to share my experiences with events that you most likely will never experience.

You're a *special* one. I've been to Germany. I've even been to a World Cup soccer game - and it was great. Reminded me a little bit of an SEC college football experience - but not quite. The only problem was the game they were playing is for wimps. Soccer is cool if you like skinny dudes running around finessing each other. I prefer the physicality of American Football. It's a much more challenging demanding game with a vast array of strategic battles being fought on the field simultaneously. Not so much in Soccer.
So....we have an Ole Miss fan trolling this thread claiming Soccer is his real passion yet here he is at the SEC Rant trolling Alabama. I'd say that's a *special* kind of a$$hole.

hurrrr durrr. Here's someone claiming a sport is climactic sport in the world based upon physicality, yet ignoring sports such as Australian-rules football.
Congrats on derping your way through your every-day life.

before Nick got to Bama the fanbase was in the cave
no flags no we are the program
it is right now all about Nick - nothing to do with the Bama fan base
Nick left Lsu to be a NFL head coach and hated it
Bama - right place at right time and 0 to do with the fan base
Nick would make Tulane great - he is that good

Also expectations. When our team is playing well we expect them to improve and we believe they will win it all while other fans are holding their breath waiting for the wheels to fall off. We are like this no matter who the coach is. It's not easy being a Bama fan.

Then where in the hell were all of you during the late 90's and early 2000's? A decade of mediocrity crept up on you and you all ran and hid. 90% of Bama's fanbase are sidewalk fans and will disappear again the next time a run of a few bad years happen.

You would never be able to understand it Danny so just enjoy your team. Low expectations and winning the big one every 60 years or so.

You want to know? I'll tell you. It's that no other fans base looks at a college sports team's accomplishments and treats it as if they have personally accomplished something. It's hilarious and pathetic.
Now, go circle jerk with some other bama fans about how "y'all" are going to beat Clemson's arse on Monday.

People constantly bitch about the fanbase's high expectations, arrogance, taking football too seriously,
That's fine. Let them keep hating us and not wanting to be like that. It's worked out for us going on 100 years now.
I think it's mainly a product of this board. I have friends and coworkers that are both Bama and A&M grads. There's "bragging rights" and small-time bets we have, and then there's the kind of beta shite you see on this board from a lot of yall (and other fanbases, but most prominently yall). Not talking about the trolling either. I put it right up there with the 40 yr olds arguing about what to tweet at Dylan Moses.
