I don't think A&M fans will get that worked up about this because we're not giving them enough credit for being realistic.

The sensible A&M fans would tell you that they're not really focused on Bama or Auburn this year. LSU maybe, by the end of the year, but they know they have work to do. I think they'll compete with the Mississippi schools, and surpass them, within the next few seasons. Then they can start really knocking on the door. Building a national football program takes time, and I think most of them would acknowledge that fact.

3-3 in the last 6, though. Same as our last 6 against LSU.

A&M is 3-12 vs Texas. That is a arse whooping.

Texas A&M has not beaten LSU in football in 20 years!

Unless John Roper is planning to suit up this fall, not sure what your point is?

Since A&M has joined the SEC, we have the same number of wins as LSU, more bowl wins, more Heismans, more head to head recruiting wins for 5 star athletes out of Edna Karr, more wins over Ole Miss, more wins over Alabama, more wins over ACC teams in the Peach Bowl, more 11 win seasons, and more top 5 finishes.

I think those are all more relevant, true. Good point. Maybe I should start bringing that up more.

A&M will have a better record than LSU this year.

I'd do a $500 straight up bet on that, let me know.

But I think the program is heading in the right direction.

Not by relying on Texas talent it isn't

Texas A&M put their tail between their legs and ran away from Texas because they were 3-12 in their last 15 games. Cowards.

What's LSU's record against A&M in our last 15 games?

I'll wait.

Edit: No I won't. Y'all are 7-8 vs. A&M. 4-8 before you ran scared from your contract to play us.

Decline applies to a situation when a team is coming from a steady run of success. 5 years minimum or more.

Steady success and A&M have NOTHiNG in common.

True, the losses to good Alabama, Auburn, and Missouri teams were close; however, that was with Mike Evans and Manziel.

Those other teams need to learn to handle their business like the owner of Texas that resides in the SEC. Only then, can you too blow out the Aggys 3 times in a row.

I didn't believe it so I looked it up.

From 84-94 A&M was 9-1 against Texas.
From 94-04 A&M was 2-8 against Texas.
From 04-12 A&M was 3-5 against Texas.

They're actually 5-10 in their last 15 games. Not good, but quite as bad since it was Texas' best decade since the 70s. But if you look at the past 30 years, it's relatively even. I would also argue that they would have beaten Texas soundly the last two seasons.

Why? They've proven they can do it before.

How many coaches do you think they went through from Darrel Royal to Mack Brown?

Any program can stay down for a long time with a bad hire at HC. The jury is out on Strong, but he is currently getting his arse handed to him in recruiting.

Bama was down for a while too, with some bad coaching hires. But at the end of the day there are just certain programs that have the history, money, resources, and recruiting pockets available.

I won't like it as much as any aggie, est assured. But they'll be back at some point. Same with the Vols.

Texas is plenty big enough for A&M to continue the rise. Granted, I think it'll be up and down, but overall the trend should be upward, they have too much money and resources to stay at the Arky (not last year Arky, mind you) level.

I don't think they'll be nationally relevant in the next few years in the winning titles manner, but I do think they'll be in and out of the top 20 or so a fair amount before long.
