Regardless, the way every barner but you went to a deflection mode of pinning the entire thing on Bama was interesting.

It takes an unprecedented level of stupid to have taken that thread this way. I'm not an Auburn fan, and stating the Alma mater of the editor was done to counter the original idea that Auburn had anything to do with the photo.

It was actually a reference toward bama's fan thought process, but I guess I need to ad "paaaaawwwl" to the end for others to clue in?

lel

Also, the beat writer went to UGA, and the high school football reporter went to UF.

So, the chain of command involves Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio graduates. Not Auburn.

Unaffiliated.

I'm pretty sure the biggest issue was that people were saying that the OANews represented "Auburn"

No dude. It's a paper run by the Auburn Admin., the Auburn students, and the Auburn fanbase. The jig is up. We just need to admit to it.

Arkansas is finally showing signs of life, having nearly beaten #1 MSU on the road and #6 Alabama at home, and all Dale can talk about is Auburn.

Some things never change.

A news organization telling the story of the game uses a picture of the most important play of the game. A still picture of video that has been replayed repeatedly on tv and on this website.

If I we're the editor, I wouldn't have done the same, but it seems people are making a big deal over something pretty small.

I don't buy that but you brought up deflection so I guess it's appropriate

Meh, I still feel like it's in poor taste. Just use a picture of the players celebrating with the AU section after the game.

ETA: The defense of it is what I have the biggest problem with.

Ehhhh that's a stretch nowadays, but not too far from reality. 65/35 probably

Really? When I was at AU it was probably 20/80 in Bama's favor.

After The Championship loss by Auburn last Jan. The Montgomery Advertiser had the headline, "Auburn Shucks"

I cancelled my subscription and am posting a link to the feeble attempt by the editor to try and cover up the meaning with a meaning of aw shucks.

A few of the comments in the article:
quote:

“You are disgusting.”

“It is insulting and demeaning.”

“Indescribably vile.”

“Whoever wrote that should GO TO HELL.”
LINK
This paper does not show any love for Auburn.

No excuses...whoever agreed to publish it should be fired on the spot. I don't think there was malicious intent, but there was definitely stupidity. frick that dude and whatever brain fart he had agreeing to publishing the photo. Sometimes even stupidity, minus intent, should cost you your job. This is an instance.

Haha fair enough. I just remember when I delivered pizzas it felt like all I saw was fricking Bama flags everywhere. Probably says more about who orders Pizza Hut than anything though.
