South Florida beat Auburn in 2007

The website used counts USF in 2007 as a major program. They were part of the Big East at the time which was apart of the BCS.

We damn sure tried. Double Overtime with UAB. Let Troy gain 722 yards against us.

We spotted Troy a 31-3 lead in 2008. Somehow pulled that one out of our arse

I was editing while you posted this. Then why are you not doing top 25 when they played? You are doing top 25 at end of year so you should do non power at end of time and not when they played. South Florida will end time non power. When the big east asked the commuter school usf to join it was defacto not a power conference anymore.

Auburn lost to a commuter school. Have any other sec teams lost to a commuter school

In first year while rebuilding at two schools. Not sure he's even played a close game against bad non power opponents since those days - at either LSU or Bama.

I remember when I lived in Memphis I was driving and listening to some sports talk when they announced Dooley being the hire.

It was not one of those hires where people thought it was going to go well at the beginning.

Memphis was not a bad team last year. Had a first round pick at QB.

Because using stats for ranked teams at the time the game is played is highly inaccurate. While they are not a mid-major, should Texas get credit for beating a Top 10 team for their win over Notre Dame? Notre Dame was #10 at the time. Why should Texas get credit for a Top 10 win, but Duke not get any credit for beating the exact same team? End of year rankings are the truest benchmark for how good an opponent was during a particular season.

Look I don't really care, I'm just going with the facts. You could probably count USF as a bad loss for Auburn, but you have to have parameters to do a search like this. As of 2007, USF was counted as a "major" program due to the fact that they were a Big East member. No one wants to go combing through search results for all 128 teams to try to pick out individual results that might be disputed by others.

Not sure what this means. Sorry you don't like facts.

No one is trying to say Saban's not a good coach. Calm down, son. The fact that I said it was funny to see is an obvious nod to the fact that he's a great coach.

This is debatable. They lost 3 games in the American conference, plus they lost to a pretty bad Auburn team in the Birmingham Bowl.

As was my response that it is understandable that it has happened to him twice b/c he was in year one at rebuilding jobs both times. I was't being defensive, just saying it's not hard to understand what happened and why. It is harder to understand when a coach who has been somewhere many years and has an established program loses to a non power opponent.

I thought so too when it happened and I'm from the USF area, but they were a legit team and Leavitt was a great coach. If hadn't hit a kid or done whatever he did, I think he's be a bigtime CFB HC now. And he built that program from scratch.

USM tried to talk the SEC into letting it join, back in the early 1970s...maybe the SEC should have listened...

Nope. I've said many a times that I like Auburn and have a lot of friends in Birmingham who are Auburn fans/grads. I typically root for them when they aren't playing Georgia. Doesn't mean I'm a fan though.

Obviously you did take it as a shot at Saban or you wouldn't be freaking out like this. Again, calm yourself down.

They lost to three teams with a combined 33-7 record including Houston who wiped the floor with FSU.

They lost to auburn with no HC and a qb getting ready for the draft.
