Here is the last time each SEC team lost to a non-power program that also finished outside the Top 25:

2016- Mississippi State lost to South Alabama
2016- Kentucky lost to Southern Miss
2015- Arkansas lost to Toledo
2015- Ole Miss lost to Memphis
2015- South Carolina lost to Citadel
2014- Vanderbilt lost to Temple
2013- Florida lost to Georgia Southern
2009- Missouri lost to Navy
2008- Texas A&M lost to Arkansas State
2008- Tennessee lost to Wyoming
2007- Alabama lost to Louisiana-Monroe
2000- LSU lost to UAB
1996- Georgia lost to Southern Miss
1991- Auburn lost to Southern Miss

**Funny to see two Nick Saban coached teams make the list
**Overall, surprising to see how often this happens to SEC teams
**Kind of surprised Tennessee never lost to a bad mid-major during the Dooley years

I took out any losses to mid-majors if those teams actually finished in the Top 25. No shame in 2008 Alabama losing to Utah, etc. That Utes team finished #2 in the country. This eliminated a Georgia's loss in '11, but that Boise team finished in the Top 10.

Eh, Toledo went 10-2 with one of their games canceled. Not a good loss by any means but they certainly weren't "bad".

The Texas Tech loss that year was worse

True, that Toledo team wasn't terrible, but there has to be a cut-off somewhere. Top 25 makes sense. If not Toledo, Arkansas' most recent would be La-Monroe in 2008

South Florida beat Auburn in 2007

If you counter "when they played the game" then why are you not doing top 25 when they played the game? You are using top 25 at end so you should do non power at end and south Florida ended not a power

Navy and Temple weren't bad, even if outside top 25.

We damn sure tried. Double Overtime with UAB. Let Troy gain 722 yards against us.

When we say Dooley was the worst coach in SEC history, we have evidence.

Also, and I need to double check this, I think he's the only Tennessee coach to have 3 consecutive losing seasons.

I don't know if that is true but I certainly wouldn't be arguing in his favor.
