This is really a shame. Ole Miss alumni are mailing their diplomas back in protest of the new mascot.

That's kinda like someone making the statement: "Well, I really disapprove of what's going on, ...so I think I'll just give myself a good arse-whoopin'!"

Dear Lord, make my opposition ridiculous.

looking forward to the university cutting ties with these folks sending their diploma's back.

Will be interesting when they're out hunting for a job and the university has no record of their supposed "degree"

When you are making enough money to spend 350k dollars on Ole Miss Sports I don't think they would be worried about one little degree.

I support their actions really, take it to the man, there a reason why you guys are called the rebels and those "rebels" of the Ole Miss alumni is sticking it to the Unionized man.

You southerners love fighting battles that you've already lost.

Good thing Col. Reb led the south to victory in the Northern War of aggression.

Otherwise, we might not have SEC football.

Why on earth would anyone waste $350,000 on Ole Miss athletics? Why not just flush the money down the toilet? The return on investments are virtually equal.

See, to a Bama fan, $200,000 for a defensive lineman is a good return on investment.

I agree. I was seriously pro-Ackbar.

I'm fine with the bear, though. He was my favorite out of the options.

The Ackbar ole miss ideal would have killed Ole Miss. Girls will , well hot girls would stop coming to Ole Miss and there would have been a sudden increase in dirty unwashed student body. Could you imagine the odor on campus if Ackbar would have been the mascot?

Thy really should have stopped at removing the rebel flag and getting rid of the mascot. They should have stuck with rebels.

At this point instead of just taking off the pants and bending over they are putting on a wig and lipstick and guiding the PC ding dong into their collective arse with both hands. You don't just throw away a hundred years worth of tradition.

It's a sad day when Ole Miss bows to the liberals who have taken over this country and throws away tradition. One of the reasons I send my children to private school is so they don't become indoctrinated with all the politically correct bullshite that is taught in public schools.
