You do realize LSU would have to play TAMU 5 days later and also give up a home game? All because your AD intentionally delayed a decision. Yet LSU is scared. Gimme a break. Y'all have been roasted all weekend in the media. Great for recruiting.

Jacksonville would never agree to moving Florida-Georgia. It's not that the game can't be played in theory, it'd be a logistics nightmare with all that goes into that game. Fans have hotels booked for that game a year before it's played and there are events that are based around that game on that weekend.

Not only that, but the Jaguars have a home game the day after, so you would have to quickly add 10,000 seats for this game and then remove it for the Jaguars home game after the game is played.

It's not happening.

Moving the Arkansas/LSU game would make a lot of sense, but I will be surprised if they move another SEC game to make this work. There is a lot that goes into hosting a game, and even if you ignore the inconvenience to fans who can't change travel plans, you have no idea how many things have to fall in place in order to change a game date. In these small college towns, lots of planning goes into game weekends, and similarly, lots of other events are planned for non-game weekends specifically because of the fact that a game won't be in town.

Regarding the Cocktail Party, if they are going to change a game, that's the one where I see there being a possibility of having something to offer the other team. This is technically a Georgia home game, so maybe if you offered to play the game on 10/22 at Athens, let Georgia keep the gate, let UGA be the home team next year in Jax (only importance is who gets to host recruits), and add some years to the Jax contract to appease Jax, that might be a something for everyone situation.

I'm ok with this option despite losing the bye week before Bama.

LIAR. No way LSU does this and gives us an advantage. It's not going to happen unless you're totally out of it by then.

How does that make HIM a liar?

Ok, It doesn't make him a liar unless he is Joe Alleva. Funny but Alleva came out yesterday and said he wouldn't play during the bye week unless we did too. As if he read this thread and agreed with me. I got a real kick out of that.

Truly believe, and they are probably correct. UF and LSU will both have more than 2 losses by Nov 1 and they will schedule a noon kick in Dec 3, cause it will not matter at that point.

Also. If for some miracle reason they both still only have the one loss by November , they will force the Nov 19th date

Sorry, no whining allowed there.

all lsu fans have done is whine about this situation. This is an issue between LSu and UF, not lsu/uf/uga/ULL/usa/arkansas/the SECCG/the selection committee/and every other entity attempted to be dragged into this mess.

It's all just fodder anyway, aint no way in hell WLOCP is getting moved.

The problem is one, you're involving Georgia in something they shouldn't have to deal with and two, GA/FL is a neutral site game. Fans from both teams have to schedule flights, hotels, time off, etc. months in advance and that frequently can't be changed. Look how much it effects attendance when on site games are shifted, the stadium is usually 50-70% full at best and that's with thousands of students/fans living in the same town as the game. Now just imagine when 90% of the fans have to travel from outside of the area?

If the game is moved to the 22nd, the place will be half full and you're fricking thousands of fans over who had plans for going on the 29th. Given Georgia has nothing to do with this that seems completely unfair.

Another issue is that it's a grass field and the Jaguars play at home the next day.

No kidding. If it is reasonable for LSU to dig in its heels to save a home game against a non-conference foe in South Alabama, why does anyone think UGA would not be in its rights to hold on to the Cocktail party on 10/29? McGarrity has already said it is not moving. The impact on UGA fans who lose their planned vacation, the financial impact on the Georgia coast where they all stay for a long weekend or a week, losing the bye week, etc. is a non-starter.

This is Florida's problem. Don't ask UGA or anyone else to fix it for you

Another option is make Florida forfeit since they made the entire league have to deal with this crap.

This option is the most deserving for those pussies.

So hanging out with Gainsville trash in Jacksonville is a "vacation"?

My condolences.

Isn't there sort of an important announcement that takes place the day after the Championship games are played? I realize a lot of you don't know what that is, but to Bama fans, its important.

I think they'll either do that, or the conference will make a ruling that doesn't benefit UF. Division wins only this year has been brought up by at least one president.

Most painless thing to do is to use divisional records to determine the divisional champion, which is what they should do anyway.

You can't move the cocktail party. There's weeklong events and the jags play that Sunday. Its November 19, move the SECCG back a week or bust.
