Came to post this but you beat me to it. This is by far the biggest gaffe of Saban’s career at Bama. Yes, our kicking sucked but just a few minutes later he sent Griffith out to attempt a 57 yarder. If Saban thought there was a scintilla of hope Griff could hit a FG from 57 yards, did he not think Griff could hit one from 30?

That was fricked up; but I'm not sure it was a strategic breakdown. Seemed more tactical to me.

I agree this was his worst decision but I'll throw in the fake punt early against Texas in the Championship game already down by 3 points.

Taking the ball out of Brandon Allen's hand against miss st in 2015. He was about to set an sec record and put an exclamation on the GOAT sec qb performance. Instead we ran the ball 3 times and tried a fg that was blocked for the 3rd or 4th time that season.

Yeah, that one’s real bad. But, as an Auburn fan, the decision to run up the middle after every big play and after most fist downs is infuriating. Also, running it up the middle on most second downs. That really upsets me too. And some third downs. And over and over and over again when it’s clear that it’s not working. That’s just cruel.
Also, when he repeatedly calls deep pass routes when the defense is blitzing linebackers and leaving the middle of the field wide open.
Or when he decides to run our best, but gimpy, running back 72 times in two games when we have three guys with fresh legs on the sidelines.

With coach Saban I gotta go with the 2011 Bama - LSU regular season game. The 9-6 game. Saban's decision to try for those long field goals instead of punting the ball and playing field position I thought was a poor choice. That's all I can think of at this point OP.
