arent we in the business of 'what have you done for me lately?'

Yes we are! Which is why it was IMPERATIVE that something be done this offseason to correct our problems. Defense, penalties, lack of discipline, and poor fundamentals have plagued us for years, and we made huge strides to correct all of those areas this offseason. That's what gives me hope. If we kept our staff intact this offseason, I assure you I wouldn't have such a positive outlook on this season.

I don't undestand...dominating the state in recruiting isn't aiming high?

You've got it backwards, Fox can thank Richt. In order to play both sports he has to be on football scholarship, not the other way around. Basically, Fox just picked up a guard without giving up a scholarship. I Loooooove it!

Or Fox can thank Richt. Since he walks on to the bball team that keeps a scholarship open and he's good friends with the best player in the 2011 state of GA recruiting class.

It's a win, win.

And it's hilarious he'd rather play DB at UGA than QB at Tech.

When I first read the article I was concerned since we already have LeMay. But his coach said he is a standout corner as well and they wouldn't have made the playoffs without his contributions on defense. This kid sounds like an all-around playmaker, and we really needed CBs too. This is just a fantastic commitment all the way around.

Oh my bad either way. Great pick up for the Dawgs. I think yall get Crowell too. Hopefully he can break the Carver curse (as I like to call Jasper Sanks) at UGA. Him and Ealey would be a SICK 1-2 punch

I expect Crowell to go to Bama. That's just my opinion and you know what they all say about those.

Its the homer in me. IF UGA and GA Tech could keep the talent in state they both compete for their conference titles every year. But like you said thats my opinion

I personally think Crowell to UGA and Wright to AU as of right now. No clue really though.

I think at the moment UGA leads for Crowell, Swann, and Rome. Don't think we get Wright. Don't feel great about Drew either. I know we won't get Vaughters. But if we got those first 3 like I think we will I'll be ecstatic.

This is from one of Wright's latest interviews. Kid seems to change teams quite regularly.

quote:

“I do have a legit top five now and the new school is Tennessee. They have made their way into my fifth spot now because of Coach [Chuck] Smith and the entire Tennessee coaching staff. I think Coach [Derek] Dooley is going to do a great job up there,” saidGabe Wright
“Florida is remaining strong in there for me. I talk to Coach [Odell] Haggins a good bit and they are likely going to get an official visit from me. I like FSU and I like Coach Haggins a lot.”

“Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama are definitely going to stay in there for me no matter what. I just really like those three schools. Something major would have to happen for one of those three to drop out. Those three schools are really working hard, but I would probably have to say Alabama has a slight lead right now.”

Wright has listed Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia on top of his list at different times over the past year. Coaches have been coming at him hard, telling him a lot about their schools, and he has been confused at times.

“It really has been a roller coaster ride for me so far, but things have settled down some, some schools have made strong impressions, and things are becoming a little clearer for both me and Isaiah Crowell.”

Could Wright and Crowell end up going to the same school? Three schools on Wright’s list of five favorites are on Crowell’s list (Alabama, Clemson, FSU, Georgia, and Miami) as well.

The two are close and the 6-foot-4, 295 pound defensive tackle out of Columbus, Ga. would love to play with his teammate on the next level.

“It would really make everything that much easier going to college because we know each other, we could help each other, and I think we both could benefit from going to the same school. Are we set one that? No, we aren’t, but we talk about it.”

“I have more interest in Auburn than he does, he has more interest in Miami than I do, so we like some of the same schools, but we like some different ones too. I would say the ones we really like the same are Alabama and Georgia. FSU is right there too.”

“It would be nice to continue to play together and to be around someone you already know so well, but we are going to make the best decisions for us first.”

Those decisions could be announced on the same day. Crowell has started to lean towards committing in Orlando, Fla. at the 2011 Under Armour All-America game and that has been Wright’s time for months.

“Sure, things can always change, but I feel like I should be ready to commit at the Under Armour All-American game. That is my plan. I would really like to do it then because I could do my own thing there, have a great time with my family, and make it special. I feel pretty certain that is when I will announce my decision.”

Who will it be in the end for this four-star DL out of one of the top high school programs in the South? Right now it looks like the Crimson Tide are in the driver’s seat, but like Wright said, it has been a roller coaster ride with a lot of changes for him, so stay tuned to Scout for the latest as things are still taking shape for Wright.

He was committed to Tech to play DB also. The signing of Brandon Reed who announced he would transfer to Tech yesterday to play bball is what led him to switch
