The actual title of the article:

The Definitive List Of Actual, No-bullshite College Football National Champions; Or, Why Alabama Is A Liar

Forgive me if I wait for something slightly less biased.

Hell even if we grant you 64, a no-bullshite list would have Bama winning 66.

It's quite obvious just from the headline this article is biased against Bama.

2004: USC. The Trojans had to vacate because of cheating. But they won at the time because they were the best.

bullshite.

It's called the Mythical National Championship for a reason. It's historically been fuzzy at best. The farther back you go, the fuzzier it gets.

Deadspin has the same level credibility and officialness than these forums do.

Meh.

We got the trophy that counts so why would we give a shite what Deadspin thinks about it?

Didn't read, but I bet Alabama is first on that list too. It's becoming harder and harder for people to formulate some way to count national championships that doesn't have Alabama first.

That's arguable.

College Football Data Warehouse is much better because it doesn't approach its lists with pre-conceived biases as the above article obviously does.

It takes away 1964 but doesn't give us '66 when Alabama was the only undefeated and untied team in America.

Pretty much.

Claims by school? Alabama #1

Recognized consensus by the media? Alabama #1

Wire service (AP or Coaches)? Alabama #1

Stricly BCS? Alabama #1

This of course counts only teams currently competing at the highest level. If you wanna talk LOL talk about Princton claiming like 26 national titles, about 20 of which came in the days where they played like 1 or 2 games a year and there were a total of like 3 or 4 teams. Now that's hillarious.

The Tigers, who were serving a postseason ban, won all their games but could neither play for the SEC title nor in a bowl. You know who beats everyone in front of them in a major conference? Champions, that's who.

Not that I agree with their reasoning about the '93 Auburn team, but shouldn't they also apply this same logic to the 2004 Auburn team that won every game on their schedule and was NOT on probation?

Meh. We ain't even mad.

Bama's got a lot - more than anyone else. Who cares what the real number is.

Also, 3/4.
