saban signs a JUCO DL just about every year. Does that mean he hasn't been recruiting very well on the DL with the HS players?

I really don't understand why it is called hype

Becuase Bama fans are calling him the second coming of Christ. ESPN analyst Brett McMurphy is picking him to win the Heisman....all this and has yet to throw one pass at Alabama.

THAT is hype.

What's this thread about? Did $aban take the Texas job and Bama replaced him with Larry Coker?

Ok park

The question:

Why does Auburn have to rely on JuCo QBs every year?

There is room for translation there but why are you stretching it? I am just saying even though he has started a year for AU yes he is still a former JuCo QB, so was Cam Newton, nothing wrong with that IMO

Newton was a 1st overall pick and is a starting NFL QB

So it doesn't matter but Nick Marshall is still a former JuCo QB and AU is still relying on him...all I was saying, nothing wrong with that

Yes y'all do. Auburn just hasn't been a destination school for QBs like an Oregon or an A&M has.

Well, Cam was brought in because Gus didn't like any of Coach Tub's QB's. Nick was brought in because Kiehl didn't pan out. We have Jeremy Johnson as a back-up now. He looks to be very talented. We brought in Sean White in this class. He looks to be very talented. The QB position looks very stout at Auburn for the foreseeable future. I don't think Gus will ever have a problem getting quality QB's, RB's, and OL. Our WR recruiting has picked up under him also.

What JUCO did the folowing QBs attend?

Kheil Frazier, Barrett Trotter, Kodi Burns, Brandon Cox, Jason Campbell, and Ben Leard?

Those were starters in 2012, 2011, 2000-2007.

We have only used a first year starter from JUCO in 2013, 2010, and 2008 dating back over a decade.

Tyrik Rollison flunked out, Kiehl Frazier was a bust, Zeke Pike was kicked out right after getting on campus, Clint Moseley was a late pickup and never meant to be anything more than a backup, and Jeremy Johnson is to be determined...

In other words, Gus's track record for QBs he recruited is not great..
