yeah but it's not even the best place for that in Athens. im all for the greek life shite show atmosphere, but im not going to silver for that.

I felt pretty confident about bourbon being the bar listed by this article. after seeing silver dollar and knowing what this dude was looking for, it should have been bourbon they are the same bar but bourbon is home. it's where everyone first used their fake, where your first bar makeout happened, where you first threw up at a bar, etc... Silver is just where you do all of that as a sophomore. I personally just never loved silver, although I have been there all too often.

fwiw, neither are the best bar in Athens, obviously.

eta: sky bar is fricking amazing. only nice thing I may ever say about auburn but that place is tGOAT. went there after auburn beat Georgia in '10 and cam went on stage and it was unbelievable.

I've been to Pavlov's in Columbia as well. decent I guess. Columbia is just trash compared to Athens and I cant get over that.

I'm a fan of Innisfree. I will say the bar scene in ttown is embarrassingly better than BR.

Damn... You beat me to it. Salty Dog is awesome. A little further towards downtown is "Mothers". Was there last weekend.

I like how he stresses the importance of picking your Oxford bar carefully due to high cover charges. Then he picks the only bar in town that comes close to those cover figures.

Why is that? City laws? More house parties?

Do yourself a favor and head on over to The Library Sports Bar, because it is the best bar in Oxford hands down. If you don’t believe me, ask anyone that has recently attended the University of Mississippi.

I can only speak for Nashville/Vandy, but Rippy's is not even top 25 in Nashville, much less number one.

It's an okay place to have a beer before a Preds game due to prime location, but other than that, it's overpriced drinks and barely decent BBQ without much atmosphere.

I don't know. City design maybe? Seems easier to get both the strip and downtown/temerson square. Downtown is not really convenient to LSU's campus, so you really only have Tigerland. Plus all the bars seem exactly the same to me, whereas th Tuscaloosa bars all seem to have their own character.

Bogies is easily the worst bar I have ever been to in Baton Rouge.

But you're "bound run into popular characters" like "all-star Rebel athletes" or "Greek life students".

Seriously, what a tool bag. I had a ton of fun doing the fraternity thing at Ole Miss, but the people that think Greek students are some type of upper class are the absolute worst.

So I take it you haven't been to Reggie's?

Bogies is the best bar near LSU, but that's really not saying much. Tigerland is trashy. On the north gate, there's pretty much just The Chimes/Varsity and Barcadia, which are both really just restaurants.

Downtown has a few good bars, but the crowds are generally either sparse or Affliction-y.

The best area for bars is the Overpass. I'm particularly fond of Chelsea's since they generally have great musical acts and fantastic food. George's is solid. Duvic's and Ivar's are too.

I'd prefer Reggie's, Tiger Bar/The Box, or Fred's. I know it's a young crowd, but when I was younger they were fun. Bogie's is lame AF. I took a friend of mine from Indiana and she was embarrassed at how bad it was fratastic and just a bunch of dudes standing around....sausage fest. Downtown scene is better for sure. Chelsea's was a pretty regular venue, especially after they moved to the current location.

Skybar is fun, but I absolutely loathe the music scene in Auburn. I'm not one for the country music scene

Pretty much any bar in Nashville is fun. I try to stay away from the tourist feel, so I hardly go on Broadway. East side Nash has some really fun bars wuth great jam bands
