Mississippi or Oklahoma...interesting conundrum.
If it weren't for the existence of Toby Keith and about a million Sooner fan just like him, it would be an easy choice.
We'll put a boot in yer arse...etc

The state of Mississippi is in shambles from a PR standpoint.
At least we can afford to run our gov and schools.
How far did that oil price drop and Jindal get into that arse? Historic budget crisis last time I heard. Something like 3 billion dollars short.

There is a lot of bashing that goes on in this site that is horizontal in nature.

What about OU letting their woman beater (Joe Mixon) stay on the team though?
Not only that but apparently he's quite unrepentant.

quote:
Are you sorry about what happened?
Mixon: “I won’t answer that.”
Do you have any regrets at all about anything?
Mixon: "No."
What did you learn about yourself during your one-year suspension?
Mixon: “What do you mean what did I learn?” (This was followed by Oklahoma spokesman Mike Houck, seated next to Mixon and chiming in periodically, reiterating that Mixon only wants to answer football-related questions.)
And just for some perspective:
quote:
In this case, it’s news again because Mixon had yet to talk and he’s now a valuable player who helped Oklahoma reach the CFP semifinals. It’s also news because Oklahoma spoke of zero tolerance when expelling students last spring for their words (a racist fraternity chant that the football team, to its credit, protested against) yet the tolerance level differs for a violent action by a student (punching a woman).

Well, obviously trading Mississippi for ANY other state would be an upgrade, but if we're upgrading, shouldn't we aim a little higher than Oklahoma?

Let's give the B12 Arkansas too and take OU and one of the NC and VA teams.

No, the problem is Okla's filled with nobody(3.9M up a mere 900k in the last 36 yrs)..while Va has 8.3M and NC has 10.3M(both growing by 1M per decade the last 30 yrs)..and they're fairly wealthy states.
Okla mooches talent from Dallas and Tx to excel(a place that SEC schools and Texas schools already mine), the Atlantic seaboard produces hoops talent, and has regional proxy to DC/Md/Philly/etc..ballers.

Nope. We would join you in the SWC revival.

If you know the whole story, I'm not surprised that he doesn't feel any regret about it. Joe Mixon isn't a woman beater.
