You think those are a result of the NFL or the particular franchise he was with and the city in which it was located? The things that made him miserable wont be there in Dallas

I think it was more a result of him dealing with professionals making a huge amount of money instead of kids looking to him for guidance.

I'm pretty sure Saban has Asperger's so I don't know why any kid would look to him for guidance

Unpossible, unless you've got some heretofore undiscovered form of synesthesia or a really good text-to-speech program on your tablet.

Semantics. If the Dolphins doctors didn't suck Drew Brees would have won a Super Bowl woth Saban. Yeah. Saban would have hayed coachung Brees because he gets paid. You can't believe that.

My point, Fawxie -- which I know you aren't too dense to have read between the lines and caught, is that with Saban's personality and style, it's a lot easier to get relatively naive blank slates to work for you than it is to get blank slates who have a whole frickton of money and think they have the world figured out to work for you.

They talked to Saban's agent.

They asked Mack Brown if he wanted to retire, presumably based on what Saban's agent said. If Saban's agent said there was no chance Saban would bounce, I don't see them taking the next step to see if Mack would step down to make way.
When Mack said he didnt want to retire, they dropped that matter
From this sequence of events, I am assuming they were not completely shot down and will go after Saban with everything they have once they fire Mack after this season

I could see that conversation:

Agent: "So, Saban has agreed to the deal of 15 million a year."
Regent: "Wonderful. Cant wait to make it happen. Only thing we have to do is okay it with Mack because we wouldn't want to hurt his feelings."

Regent: "Hey Mack, could you please retire? We have Saban lined up!"
Mack Brown "No, I want to keep coaching."
Regent "Oh well! At least we tried. I guess I'll have to tell Saban not this time."

Some of you people

You're rationalizing an emotional opinion. You're dead set in it, and have framed it in such a vague way I can't dispute it other than to say you're probably some naive college fan that thinks all professional athletes are primadonnas ans uncoachable but that is just asinine. Saban would have won a Super Bowl with Drew Brees. Blank slate or not. And if you really don't think the process can handle professionals and Saban doesnt have a strong enough personality to handle grown men you must think much less of him than I. And yet your initial point was about hia family being miserable. Whatever. I don't care to argue. You're just scared he'll leave so you're rationalizing qhy he would never leave. Classic denial, and it serves me no purpose to worry about it.
