They would bring in different recruiting bases for the motherships.

Hart and Bowden said it was too hard to get to the NC game in the SEC.
If the SEC adds 2 or more quality football schools, making the league even tougher than it already is, SEC teams in NC games will become more rare.

If mizzou is gonna join then they're gonna have to change the way they dress and tailgate first. I went last year and it was just a bunch of jersey and hoody wearing gdi's tailgating in a big parking lot.

Whatever UT wants, I want the opposite. So if they are clammoring to keep the Big12 together so that they can continue double-dipping on the TV money, I want the Big12 to fail.

In time I think that both A&M and Missouri get in. The question arises who gets in from the East?? Clemson? FSU?

i think this is over estimated. The way recruiting is now and tv pretty much any team can be seen anywhere. Also if it does anything it harms LSUs recruiting in the area if more of the sec gets in on it. LSU should be against something like this if it gives texas talent to more teams.

why would you want state over unc (or duke)? at least the other two bring basketball. although, these three will never split up either so...

well adding a&m and mizzou shouldn't make it that much harder.

now texas and ou would be a different story but i dont see a&m doing much in the west other than beating ole miss

I would love UNC in the East, I just don't see that happening. It's not very logical. UNC is not leaving the ACC. Football is driving this expansion and UNC basically just folded its football program.

VaTech and NCState are much more realistic candidates IMO (along with Clemson and/or FloridaSt).

They won't be winning the conference, but they will beat teams that win the conference making getting to the NC game more difficult. LSU fans may not appreciate this fact as much as us Aubs since you made it one year with 2 losses and we got snubbed in an undefeated season. A&M is equivalent to Arky IMO and Mizzou is on par with the Mississippi schools. They are not world beaters, but they will beat their share of quality teams.

The BCS NCG is going to be a Big 10, Pac 12, ACC and mid-major affair if the SEC makes it too difficult on itself. Not to mention expansion would virtually eliminate any good non-conference games.

if we are going to expand though id rather a team that has a chance to knock off the big boy vs another big boy. we already have the big 6 teams we dont need the big 8.

pardon my ignorance, but is this something that each school would have to vote and agree upon? or can the SEC commish pretty much add or drop anybody he wants?

TIA

I think Mizzou violates the Southeastern part of the Southeastern Conference

I agree. My argument is against expansion, especially expansion to 16 teams. I could live with aTm and VT if expansion was inevitable, but I don't think expansion is a good idea.

usually soon = imminent

wasnt't there an article saying that Arkansas was supposedly pushing for the aggie/mizzou package?

I fully welcome Mizzou. that would be our instant basketball rivalary.
