I still say the 16 team super conference is a scheduling nightmare, but the 20 team super conference with 4 divisions is very workable. In a sense it brings back the old 10 team SEC inside it.
West Division: LSU, Bama, Aub, MSU, and OM
East Division: UF, UGA, Tenn, UK, and Vandy
SW Division: Arky, A&M, Oklahoma, OSU, Mizzou
Atlantic Div: USCe, FSU, VT, Clemson, Maryland (or virgina, GT, UNC and NC State, etc.)
Each team will then play 8 conference games (4 division games, 3 rotate through the other divisions, and 1 preferred rival). Then run a 4 team playoff rather than a championship game.
The SEC will own college football!

as a old school SEC guy man I gotta say I like that alot
I just don't think they would have the guts and be able to pull all that together at the same time but it would start a revolution conference wise

To me it seems to be a perfect mix of "old school SEC" and "new super conference". Everyone should be happy. Plus UF probably picks up FSU as a preferred rival leaving LSU to take TAMU as a preferred rival.

That's the beauty of it. We won't. :)

I don't care for that, it seems cumbersome.
But just to pretend, from a rivalry standpoint, I guess having A&M would be ok. We have little to no history with OU or Mizzou. (We've played South Carolina more times in our history than we've played OU and Mizzou combined)
We do have some history with Okie St, although its been many years since we played them.

FWIW, that's what Jackie Sherrill has been saying. 4 20 team conferences (no indy's). If the one you proposed is the SEC, no other 20 team conference could compete

To hell with Clemson, FSU and GT. Those schools bring absolutely nothing to the SEC. I'd rather have WVU than any of those three.

You won't see NC State going anywhere. No one here in Raleigh wants to compete. They have a hard time enough not being at the bottom of the ACC in every single sport. Plus I doubt you'd be able to pull any Carolina team since they are so dependent on each other.
FWIW, I always enjoyed BR games; was at the Ole Miss overtime game years ago and couldn't believe it. Look forward to having some good times.

Then take ECU for five or six years - just long enough to get the North Carolina television markets - and then kick them out.
