But you are a bastion of neutrality when it comes to BR? We're all homers, that's what this site is.

Most analysts have the Big 12 as the 5th best conference.

If the playoff were to be held today:

1. Florida State (ACC)
2. Ohio State (B1G)
3. Auburn/Missouri (SEC)
4. Stanford (PAC 12)

Oklahoma State would be left out in the cold.

Name the advantages Oklahoma and FSU hold over the SEC's only Texas school?

Recruiting rankings indicate we are buttfricking both of these schools, especially OU. But sure, they're WAY better programs than little ol' A&M.

So would the 3rd or 4th team in the SEC West.

We don't. But aside from the title, it is a good article.

Who is bitter?

All I said was that currently Texas, along with several other schools, were a better job than A&M. Most of the Ags in the thread would agree with that statement.

I also think it is much easier to go undefeated in the Big12 than to win the SEC. It is fine if you disagree with me on that, I don't really care.

I grew up pulling for the Ags, have a ton of friends that went to school there and have been to numerous games at Kyle, including the upset of #1 OU. It's a great school and I'm glad to have it in the SEC, but that doesn't make it the best job in college football.

Of course it's the best coaching job in the country.

Big boy salary and absolutely no pressure.

It's the only place where you can go 8-4 with the heisman trophy winner and get a 2 million dollar a year raise and a 6 yr extension.

I think A&M is a very good job for all the reasons that the aggie posters are diligent at reminding us of.

I also think it's unfair to compare A&M to programs like Texas and USC because they are so different. A&M has a completely unique atmosphere.

Aggies will have a much better argument if these top notch recruiting classes can deliver consistent wins against the top tier of the SEC

A&M might be a better coaching job but they havent been near the program that OU and FSU have been the proof is in the win- loss category

At least according to this guy from Business Insider: LINK

He primarily lists as his reasons:

We are rich as hell.
We play in the SEC.
We are from Texas which has the most quality players.

Personally I think this is an overstatement but the guy is from Iowa so he doesn't have any bias toward us.

Flame away

Not even the best coaching job in Texas.

Texas isn't in the SEC and that is one of the 3 primary things the writer mentions.

It is also a major fallacy that being in the B12 is an easier path to the Playoff or NC. If you are in the B12 you MUST be undefeated to have a real shot at the playoff. It is actually possible you could be undefeated and be left out if the SEC, Pac 12, ACC, and Big 1G all had undefeated teams. In the SEC though if you are a 1 loss team that wins the Conference you are a lock for the playoff. The SEC also has by far the best chance of having a team that didn't win the conference in the playoff or of even having a 2 loss team in the playoff.

I agree on its surface the article if bunk and especially think his point about how Texas has produced so many great QB's without considering other positions was a bit weak. His real point though is based on potential and that is a very strong argument.

In many ways it is pretty damn scary that A&M has already sold out a 102k seat stadium they are spending $450 million on when we haven't won a conference title since '98 or a Natty since '39. What do you think happens when A&M actually DOES win the SEC and/or Natty? Right now we are basically holding serve financially with programs that have had far more recent success than we have so it isn't a reach to assume that when we do win our potential to be even stronger is very real.

I wouldn't agree that you always have to be undefeated. In the last 10 seasons these Big 12 schools would have qualified for the 4 team playoff and 6 of them had 1 or more losses:

03 OU (1L)
04 TX (1L) OU (0L)
05 TX (0L)
06 NONE 2L OU was champion
07 OU (2L)
08 OU (1L) TX (1L)
09 TX (0L)
10 NONE 2L OU was champion
11 OSU (1L)
12 NONE 1L KSU was champion
