Yeah I knew it was a while ago. I didn't realize it was that long ago tho, wow. Well it was fun to watch without a doubt. It was actually alot closer game than many here thought it would be. Curtis is a true dynasty though man about 5x over. They're one of the greatest football programs in entire country of all time. They're a machine.

Huntsville and Montgomery area high schools have better programs now in Alabama. The Birmingam metro has some catching up to do.

James Clemens is probably the best high school team in the state of Alabama this year anyway. May have as a many as five Alabama signees.

They sucked arse when the school first opened and athletes in its district were still allowed to go to Bob Jones. My kids go there... Go Jets!!!

Did Montgomery schools suddenly get a lot better in the last 4 years?

team in Birmingham a while ago. That was back when they had their own tv show on mtv and all that bs. Lol that was some funny shite. Everyone in louisiana who follows high school sports knows about curtis football and knew that was going to happen. The hoover crowd was pumped up when curtis spotted them 14 points...however, curtis adjusted and ended the game with 28 unanswered points. The hoover crowd was shocked but nobody in louisiana was bc they expected it. Hoover would be a good team here but wouldn't be a great team much less be a dynasty in louisiana in 5a ball. shite they wouldn't even win 2,3, or 4a ball against the private schools that recruit here. Alabama high school ball is good but isn't like louisiana top to bottom much less texas. Oh yeah, joe mcknight is still running.

LSU fans have better high school football talent, their college talent is superhuman in the NFL, yet their college talent had been beaten like a drum by Alabama college talent pretty much since college football began. That is one moral victory state you have there.

Metro area. I'd include pratville. Carver and park crossing. Those that have produced SEC talent lately.

Gardendale is top 2 or 3 in the state this year....2 fumbles returned for td early in that game by Gardendale....teams are close talent wise.

Spain Park has been around since 2001. They went to state 10 years ago as well. Hoover's entire run of state championships has happened during the existence of Spain Park. What exactly has changed that the talent would all of a sudden shift? Spain Park has always had some talented players, but it's a smaller school and the parts of town zoned for SP are not where most of the talent is going to be living most years.

Hoover is still Hoover.

More and more talent seems to be SEC level at Spain Park.

Is it talent development at Hoover now?

I'm guessing. You tell me.

Von Miller
Adrian Peterson
Derrick Johnson
Earl Thomas
Mike Bennett
Jason Peters

They all just scream soft, huh?

I'll admit Texas is better at the skill position. How many starting QBs are from Texas? Brees, Luck, Griffin, Keenum, Dalton, & Tannehill.

What about star RBs?
Charles, Peterson, Ivory, Michael, Jackson, Sims

And WRs?
Evans, Bryant, Wright, Lafell, Moore, Sanders, Crabtree, Dola, Williams, Beasley, Gordon, and that isn't counting all the rookies coming in.

Texas produces the best HS, College, and NFL talent and it isn't all that close.

Definitely not development. They've had the same HC nearly a decade and will always have the best assistants money can buy in Alabama HS football. Look at the assistants they've put into the college game, Jeremy Pruitt for example.

I don't follow HS football super close, but seems like they just had a weak senior class with a weak QB last year. Same thing happened in the 07 season when Spain Park went to the finals, and to a lesser extent in the 08 season. Those are the only two seasons they've missed the state finals this millineum and they won 3 straight state championships before last year. Odds are they'll be winning state again by next year, if not this year.
