It is serious. They've had 34 defensive players drafted in the NFL. The other poster said they had no talent on D. This says otherwise.

During what time span? Clemson currently has 9 defensive players in the league, who earned playing time under Steele in 3 years. LSU sends twice that many.

“You're not going to learn a lot throwing the football at LSU, I'm sorry. If he had the right coaching, I like that kid. I remember that kid, he has a gun. Freshman got his chance and they pulled him. That kind of offense that they run, I don't think they read defenses, it doesn't look like they do. LSU especially, they don't really coach them up down there.”

Russell, Flynn, and Mettenberger have all started games at QB in the NFL. The same cannot be said for Croyle, McElroy, and McCarron.

Since 1999. I'm not saying they're loaded like LSU and Bama tend to be but someone said they had no major talent when he was there.

I mean if you had a son who had NFL potential (think 5*) would you really want him playing at LSU? Are there examples of kids maximizing their potential at that position because I can't.

Has more NFL starts than:

Combined. I wouldn't want my 5 star son going to Alabama. Saban doesn't develop QB talent.

Well any moron knows this. Bama is where Qbs go to die. BUT and its a big but, Saban is not a QB coach and have never been called a QB guru.

Mcelroy was a 3 star and McCannon was a 4.

Both are pretty lame and average, national title winners though

Mett was a 4 star, 11th at his position.

McElroy was a 3 star, 11th at his position.

McCarron was a 4 star, 7th at his position.

Get off my lawn!! That's all I heard from your post

that's because you are deaf, whether by choice or ignorance.

bradshaw is a PUBLIC figure in Louisiana and did not attend LSU. publically dissing the program at LSU is not a class move. esp when you consider he was passed over in favor of burt jones by LSU. so bradshaw has a thing against LSU and taking shots publically is a poor move.

maybe you should open your mind and not "assume" every comment from a person more mature than you deserves an automatic bull shite response.

I also can't remember the last time Alabama had incompetent qb play

Bama does a great job of managing the QB position and recruiting these types of players.

LSU seems to recruit QB's that are opposite of the system they run.

It would also seem that LSU would be the PERFECT place to come an shine as a QB.

Strong running game.....check
Strong O-Line........check
Great D......check

Doesn't make sense that we can't be DECENT at QB, just average would be $ at LSU (a la Flynn & Mauck)

Terry has perhaps overlooked the fact that our QBs are not able to read defenses.

As we watch the Loo-Weeze-E-Anna fan devour themselves.

Look, you don't develop QB talent well. Yes, you can point to but this fourth stringer in the NFL started so many games when everyone else was stricken with polio.

Let us face some cold hard facts here. LSU does not develop great QB talent. You are, with the exception of last year, still an elite program. So what you are doing seems to be working.

But you can't turn out a great QB to save your life.

Anthony Jennings definitely doesn't read defenses, but that doesn't mean he isn't Supposed to, and our system doesn't call for him too.
