Any specifics on how Bristol will transform the facility to suit a football game? Seems like they will need to bring in portable seating closer to the infield.

It is going to be interesting, that's for sure.

as steep as the banking is, building temporary seating on the track area may be really hard.

Also, isn't the media center at one end of the infield and another building at the other? They are going to have to fit the football field in between them.

I also assume they will have to take down the catch fence, or else anyone with seats lower down will be looking through it.

I just realized that Bristol is half in Tennessee and half in Virginia... And this game is between teams from Tennessee and Virginia... Woah!

One of the cool things they're doing is suspending a MASSIVE 4 sided jumbotron from the top of the stadium in the center of the field.

The Jumbo Megatron is named "Colossus".

Each side is 30 feet tall by 63 feet wide. In total, the system hosts nearly 54 million LEDs and 18 million pixels. At 6mm pitch, the pixels are grouped tighter than the large-scale outdoor displays in Times Square. The result: a glimmering visual experience capable of offering 281 trillion different color combinations, and one that’s 23 times brighter and 25 percent sharper than the typical home HD TV.

I'll be in the Earnhardt Terrance, raising hell and praising Dale.

What are these "Battlefields" surrounding the playing field? Sanctioned fan fighting area?

I'm probably not gonna attend, but it's gonna be quite the spectacle. 150,000 attendance record, too bad your poopy program won't be a part of it

The Jumbo is a good thing, because it's the only way 2/3 of the crowd - 100,000 people - will be able to see the game.

Probably something to do with Bill Battle. I bet those are places where you can get your photo made with the old coach.

Can't be any worse than Nillon Stadium.

If 160,000 people attend the game, the University of Michigan will automatically expand their stadium to 161,000 to keep the attendance record.

They'll likely put a grass surface of some sort so the teams will play. Also, there will lots of seats for people to watch the game.

Looks like I'll be there ... we secured our places a couple of weekends ago when I was up there in the Tri-Cities area at the cabin. Twelve of us together, but why I agreed to this I do not know. I had to choose between that game or going to Starkville again, and maybe doing some gambling, so I chose to do the family thing with the Tennessee kin since we're all getting older. Plus a judge friend and his wife are coming over from Nashville, and a musician friend and his wife are coming over from Nashville ... we'll all get drunk and pretend we give a rat's arse about the game ... well, some family will/does, I guess.

This game is more about the experience and spectacle rather than good seats. Yeah I mean the seats aren't gonna be great no matter where you are. But it's going to be the biggest football game ever, it's going to be on a long weekend with racetrack tailgating all day. I, for one, cannot wait.
