Doesn't matter to me, we still owned them when they were "on top."

It's gotta be tough to recruit for them. Georgia, Bama, LSU, Florida, South Carolina, etc. all doing well combined with the fact that high school kids today have no recollection whatsoever of a competitive, much less elite, Tennessee program.

You have a great advantage in recruiting, wich has helped your team be great during the last 3 decades. Our team has to climb a very steep obstacle course to get there, but we'll never give up trying to get to the top.

We are the Volunteer State, and we will fight until the end.

Exactly, it doesn't help that Tennessee isn't really a talent rich state.

If Ole Miss can get a top five class, I don't see how we can not reach the same result now that we have a competent coach.

Tennessee's offensive anemia against Alabama has been especially historic. The Vols have only scored a total of 8 touchdowns in the last nine years. That's three different head coaches and at least four or five different offensive coordinators.

This recruiting class could be a program changer... if the team doesn't go 4-8 this year.

I'll never understand how a state with two large metro areas (Memphis, Nashville) have such mediocre talent, what gives?

I hate to break it to you, but Derek Dooley, who is one of the least competent football coaches I've seen at any level, still managed to get pull in top 10-15 recruiting classes, although his final one was headed off a cliff. A competent coach will have Tennessee pulling in top ten classes consistently, like every other Tennessee coach has done except Battle.

There's talen here. They just go elsewhere. (Lived in Nashville many years)

Randall Cobb went to Alcoa. Wasn't recruited by Phil because he went to a small school. Or so the rumors say.

The best athletes in both areas (especially Memphis), play basketball.

True, but it seems like talent statewide is getting better. Especially in Mid Tn where the poplulation has grown so much. It is still not on par with the rest of the South, but at least it is improving.

UT pitiful, for next 10 years. Even recruits from Tennessee going elsewhere. Rats leaving sinking ship.

Tennessee will in all likelihood sign all three top 100 in-state players this year.
