To give jones a raise when he's gone below .500 In two years (while the SECE is at an all time low) with no other program giving him a serious look blows my mind.

it's like what auburn did after chiziks 2nd year.... or muschamp... or when bama have Shula a raise in 2005 (except those three actually won 11+ games, not 7)... it's what stupid ADs and departments do.

It is terrible, but Butch has guys like the OP eating out of his hands. They eat his cliches and daily bullshite for breakfast.

Huh?

Is UT really that far gone that they think 6-6 in the East is a "big thing"?

Anyone who had Tennessee, which sported the youngest roster heading into the season, going to a bowl, raise your hand. OK, you’re all liars. No one saw this coming and this is definitely a cherry on top of the Vols' season.

I actually hate his cliché's and thing they are overdone.

I am just a very knowledgeable fan who understands all facets of where our program has been, where it fell to and the work Butch has done to put us in great position to compete for the SEC Title the next few years.

Dullards like you are the only thing slowing our turnaround down.

I can agree with that low, a raise was not warranted at this time.

The only team they shouldn't have been expected to win against was South Carolina, who performed well under expectations this year.

Next.

So you are saying we overachieved by a game.

I agree.

Go Vols and Butch!

So after Mullen gets a raise from Miss St, TN was just going to let Butch Jones be the lowest paid coach in the entire SEC?

That was the situation we were win.

He is still going to be around 10th in the conference with this raise...it's not like he's getting 5Million like Sumlin.

No, because you lost to both Florida and South Carolina. Just because South Carolina was way worse than people expected in the preseason doesn't mean you overachieved.

UT is entering the Stockholm Syndrome phase of college football fandom.

Actually I'd say 66% of previews I saw had Tennessee going 6-6 and the other 34% had them going 5-7.
