Why are you such a knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing, cross-eyed, affront to geneticists everywhere?

LSU being hyped makes sense. Tennessee not so much.

Tennessee short of having problems this summer is going to be a top ten football team next year. Don't thing they have enough to make the playoffs, but they are going to be good.

Every year there are teams that are over hyped. Their guess is LSU and Tennessee. We'll see

This is one time there is no argument. Lf7 is by far the best rb in college football in 2016-17

Yes, we are all going to doubt Harris until he proves he can QB his team to victory over a quality opponent down the stretch. If he does, great, you guys have a real shot at a special season.

If he doesn't then there is a good chance you run into the same problems you did last year. Its on Harris and the LSU OC to prove everyone wrong.

This is exactly right from my perspective. This team will go only as far as the QB position will take it.

After reading the article I think the main difference, and it's a huge difference imo, is aranda >>> Steele.
A les miles offense no matter how talented can't survive a 100+ point November on defense

To me this is exactly why LSU IS overrated. I don't understand why people think that their team is going to be better in any given year because they have a new coordinator. It takes time for any coach to get his team rolling, no matter what the talent pool looks like. This isn't always the case, but it usually is.

LSU's defense is going to get burned plenty of times this season.

Like the author of this article says, I don't think that LSU is going to be a bad team or anything, but all this talk of an SEC Championship is foolish. Biggest question to me is whether or not LSU will actually pull the trigger and get rid of Miles this season once he losses a few games again.

The answer to your "Biggest question" is that Miles will be at LSU until his contract runs out unless he completely shits the bed. With the talent on this team, I don't see it happening, but Miles has proved me wrong on a number of occasions.

We went from 58th scoring D 08 under Mallory and peveto to 10th in scoring in 09 under Chavis.
It can definitely happen in 1 year if you have talent.

The 08 Tebow led UF team put up 50+ LSU, the 09 tebow led UF team put up 13.
When LSU has an elite defense next year to go along w fournette and a more experienced Harris watch out.

Not saying we win the NC unless our offense is clicking but top 5 isn't unreasonable. Remember who our QBs were in 2011?

When you recruit as well as anyone not named bama and get the right DC you should be in every game

BAMA was #3 on this same idiots list last year

Yeah...about that...I believe the vast majority of rival fans on this board would have agreed with his assessment this time last year.

We were replacing a QB who had just had the most prolific season for any QB in Alabama Football history; we were losing three starters on the offensive line; and we were losing our top three wide receivers.

So he struck out on Alabama as being an overhyped team because he didn't factor in the greatness of Saban's coaching ability. It happens. He also nailed his predictions for LSU and, to a lesser extent, Tennessee.

I'm sure there are a plethora of quotes like this the past 5 seasons. You guys run the same cycle every year, then come offseason, it's like nothing ever happened.

I'm not saying that LSU will suck the meat missile here. I expect y'all to have a fairly salty defense. However, it is very difficult to absolutely smother everyone on offense in the modern era of football.

Even the great teams find themselves in the occasional shootout now a days. When this year's LSU team shows me that they can hang enough points on the board against a good team to win that type of game then I won't bat an eye at them being a top 5 team or even making the CFP.

It comes down to Harris being able to make the throws and his OC putting him in the right situations to make those throws.

I agree

What I'm saying is we smothered no one on defense last year and went 10*-3 (Mcneese)

We held one team to under 20 pts besides ms state going for 2 to attempt to tie at 19. That's including syracuses w 5th string qb, western Kentucky in the rain...

With an elite DC and a Jr QB a one game improvement is crazy? Crazy enough to be the most overrated team in football? 11-2 is good for a top 5 finish almost every year.

Y'all beat us down the last few years while y'all had a bad record and ours was top 15 caliber.
That's what you are using to compare and justify us not having a top 5 ranking. We beat the majority of the other teams while y'all didn't though.

What I'm telling you is we are not that far off, if y'all would play every week like y'all play us y'all would be top 5-10 as well

If I had to bet on better record (higher ranking) I'd take LSU over Arkansas, if I had to bet on the winner in our head to head that would be a lot tougher

It really is amazing watching what y'all have done to us the last few seasons then comparing our w/l on the schedules

2015 was supposed to be the year we finally took a step back. There were so many OPs from so many different users who were screaming "8-5!" at the top of their lungs.

Eventually they may be right, but not this year. 2016 is a 10+ win team. There is too much talent on the roster for anything less.
