I have seen the Vols ranked in the top 10 at some places, and in my opinion, that's moving just a bit too fast.
Well you don't get nicknamed Sexual Assault U for taking this things slow

I was expecting to go into that article claiming that LSU is overrated because of QB. And that's what I got.
I guess I can now be a journalist.

So returning 18 or 22 starters. Arguably the best RB in college football. What should be a really really good defense. Question mark at QB although Harris should by all accounts be better. So this fool ranks us as the #1 overhyped team in 2016?

A quick death from a bullet to the brain is better then a long, slow, lingering death due to gangrene. Neither is something you want to happen to you tomorrow though.
Yes, we are all going to doubt Harris until he proves he can QB his team to victory over a quality opponent down the stretch. If he does, great, you guys have a real shot at a special season.
If he doesn't then there is a good chance you run into the same problems you did last year. Its on Harris and the LSU OC to prove everyone wrong.

So that's CBS and ESPN saying LSU is overhyped. If this keeps up, there won't be anyone left hyping LSU.
Serious question:
Can a team be overhyped if no one is hyping them?

I completely laughed at this article when he didn't mention Ohio State at all or Ole Miss. Ohio State brings back 6 starters total, Ole Miss 7, yet Ole Miss' rankings hover between 9 and 12 and Ohio State between 5 and 10.
Louisville is loaded on offense and defense. He's looking at wins last year and not putting anything into context. Louisville started the year with only one experienced WR (lost 5 of their top 6 pass catchers the previous year with 4 being WRs), a true freshman QB, nearly the entire OL and DL as first year starters, and like 3 or 4 total starters on defense. They played musical chairs with QB most of the year too. Louisville should be around 15 or 16th.
Washington had the best defense in the Pac 12 last year and bring back and 7 or 8 of those guys. Their best players on offense are young with the true freshman QB (2950 yards 63% 16 TDs), and true freshman RB (1300 yards 14 TDs 5.74 ypc). This numb skull doesn't even think Washington should be ranked, when really they should be ranked in the top 20 along with Louisville.
While I agree that LSU shouldn't be rated as top 3, he's completely wrong about what we had coming into last year. We knew the defense would take a dip, but not by that much. We knew the passing game would be a WIP. We also knew that Fournette would improve. We talking about Dural and Dupre having experience, but nothing about them blowing up. We expected a 10-2 season and you can look up previous prediction pieces here and on tRant.
Tennessee was getting hype last year to be a 10-2 or 9-3 team. Tennessee ended up 4 plays short of going undefeated. They led going into the 4th, in all of their losses IIRC. It's about finishing now and they are extremely loaded with talent, experience, and now better coaches on O and D.

LSU being hyped makes sense. Tennessee not so much.

After reading the article I think the main difference, and it's a huge difference imo, is aranda >>> Steele.
A les miles offense no matter how talented can't survive a 100+ point November on defense
Our 2014 offense was a lot worse than the 2015 version, and in 14 we took bama to OT (13-13), beat ole miss 10-7, and gave up 17 to Arkansas.
Steele was bad...
All 3 of those teams in 15 individually put up about all 3s combined total from the year before.
If people think aranda can match chavis' 2014 with even more talent to work with, I don't see why a top 4-5 ranking is "the most overrated" team in football. Especially with our offense finally being upperclassmen.
That 2014 offense was led by a less experienced version of what would have been our third team QB this season. Not to mention fournette, dupre, and Harris are two years older
While we might not be the top team in the nation unless our offense is clicking, with the right DC a talented/experienced LSU team can always be top 5

Recent history in the SEC West (past 5 years) for 2nd year starters is on Harris's side.
