re: Tenn is going to finish 7-5 this year. It's a rebuilding year. Is that really that bad?

Was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt to fit OP's situation. I'm not sure they win that game either tbh

They probably have a better chance of winning games if they can Butch and make Hoke interim HC.

It's time Tennessee and a lot of SEC upgrade the coaching staffs.

I don't think that is grounds for a firing.

Butch Jones is 100% fired at 7-5. He's 100% gone with a loss this Saturday (although maybe not until later in the season). I think he's gone no matter what.

This year isn't what will get botch fired. It's this year, coupled with the past 2 years. Look at what they had on offense the past few years. That was a roster that should have at least had them in Atlanta. With Georgia down, and Florida having no offense after Will Grier, it should have been a no brainer. Tennessee should expect much better than that. He's just not a very good coach.

5 yrs in isn"t rebuilding, but reloading time.

He has proven he's not a player development coach, and QD should have been further along. All the close "sawg drama" games the last few yrs hurt development of back ups that were the future.

He needs to go even if he wins out after bama. Currie needs to bring in his own guy, and see what's going on. If not, he needs to back Jones up at least in public. Otherwise UT loses games, and recruits it shouldn't.

No sympathy at all for jones at this point.
