No, this statement is absurd because LSU fans are stating this as if it's an actual rule when it's not. The Oklahoma and Nebraska situations argue FOR a LSU/Bama rematch happening not against one. I'm not saying I think a rematch will happen btw. I happen to think the voters push Oklahoma just ahead of Alabama if they win out and a win over #2 OSU gives them an out to do so. I just find it incredibly disingenous of LSU fans to state with a straight face that 1 flip of the coin toss up loss against the #1 team at home just past the midway point of the season is an automatic disqualifier for a trip to the national championship. It's so intellectually dishonest and hypocritical when you consider LSU lost 2 games including their last regular season game and still snuck in the national title game. This happened because other teams lost as well. To argue that Alabama has no right to be in the discussion of a bunch of other 1 loss teams is just lame.

We won the fricking conference dumbass.

I'm starting to think you aren't bright. LSU won their conference. Slight difference.

GovtTide, no one ever said bama doesn't belong in the conversation. I just am convinced we will not see 2 sec teams play for the title. Bama needs LSU to lose. Period.

CrimsonSaint and GovtTide, how exactly would Oregon losing help you. OU would close in to within 1 spot in the human element essentially assuring the winner of Bedlam to take the 2 slot if LSU wins out. Don't forget the Big 12 has a very strong computer ranking and bama is about to play a FCS opponent. The computers won't be your friend with this and the fact PSU may also lose to tOSU on the weekend. It's not reaching for why bama should be left out. It's called rational thought and facts evaluation; something most Bama fans struggle with.

I've thought of this and agree that an Oregon loss could actually hurt us by assisting Oklahoma in the human polls.

BTW, I don't have a problem with LSU fans arguing Oklahoma's very legit qualifications for #2. It's just the arrogant, condescending tone that you guys deliver it with and the way you dismiss any reasonable arguments Alabama fans make in their favor as "delusional". You make some really good points but the whole "LSU already beat Alabama and Oregon and therefore they are out of it" argument is completley baseless imho. Yes, it could have a subconscious effect on voters against a rematch but it's baseless because it essentially ignores all other factors including Alabama, Oregon, and Oklahoma's body of work in favor of what 2 of those teams did against the #1 team. In other words, it proves absolutely, positively NOTHING when it comes to who the #2 team is which is the only mystery in this title game equation assuming LSU wins out and Okie State loses. The fact that Alabama and Oregon lost games to the #1 team doesn't automatically mean that Oklahoma is automatically #2. You essentially are punishing Alabama and Oregon for actually playing the #1 team while rewarding the fact that Oklahoma's loss is to an unranked team and not to LSU. Argue for Oklahoma based on their wins and body of work not because of some ridiculous you already lost to #1 LSU so you're out crap.

LOLWUT? Bama doesn't have a reasonable argument right now. A lot of teams have to lose for that to happen.

Again, for the 10,000th time, winning your conference isn't a prerequisite for getting into the national title game dumbass.

How about not winning your division? If it wasn't Bama would you be ok with a team that didn't even win it's own division getting in? There's no reason to reward Bama for getting to rest on Dec. 3 by putting them in the NC. You're not getting in broseph. Deal with it.

Funny thing about Bama fans is despite all this BS, they forget some things:

1) OU is ahead in 1 poll already. They are within 1 spot in 3 of the 5 remaining polls and no more than 2 spots in the other 2.

2) They play games against teams that will likely be 11-0, 5-4, and 6-3 versus Bama's 1AA and 7-4 opponent.

3) FSU likely wins out as does Tulsa for OU's OOC. PSU will lose the next 2 games most likely. If LSU beats Arky, Bama's best win will look worse also.

Oregon is also ahead of Bama in 1 computer already and within 1 spot in 4 of the remaining 5. They have games against USC (8-2), OSU (2-8 but better than 1-AA), and likely a 7-5 ASU team. That will likely boost them over Bama in most of the computers.

That also doesn't include OSU that will likely remain ahead of Bama in the computers. That is the thing most people are forgetting about. Bama could end the season likely at #5 if OU and UO both win out. If that happens and OU is #2 in the computers, they'd only need to be within 1.5 spots on average in the human polls to beat out Bama.

It is really just not that likely a rematch with Bama will happen unless OU chokes now and then beats OSU or Oregon chokes too.

They have a reasonable argument if Okie State loses and that's my point. Alabama would be one of three 1 loss teams with strong arguments for the #2 spot. A "reasonable" argument could then be made. Alabama probably wouldn't have the best argument but they certainly would have a reasonable argument. My point is that LSU fans on this board are calling reasonable arguments "delusional".

No they don't. It would be complete and utter bullshite if a team that doesn't have to play a championship game gets rewarded with a shot at the title. OU and Oregon would then have the upper hand over Bama.

Just going around in circles IMO. I'm just glad LSU is in the position it's in, and it appears there is another fanbase currently that doesn't seem satisfied with the position their team has put them in.

THIS is a respectable and reasonable response unlike so many of the lame "you lost to LSU already so you're done" and "it's not fair that LSU has to.........while Bama sits at home" arguments being made. Thanks for the well thought out response and I happen to agree with you.

P.S. I'm not convinced of Oregon jumping us though. I think Oklahoma jumping Alabama is highly likely though.

lsu fans just need to tell everyone to bring it on, their team is so good that they are not afraid of anyone. leave it at that, do not engage in pointless speculation and these kind of threads will die a lonely death.
