Well, because there would be more to it than just head to head genius.
LSU's schedule would've been harder than both Arky and Bama.
Arkansas' wins (if they beat LSU) in order of Quality:

Auburn @home
A&M (Neutral)
Rest of the SEC and you had 3 shite OOC games
LSU's wins (if they lose to Arky) in order of Quality:
@ Bama (top 5)
Oregon (top 5/Neutral)
@WVU
Auburn
UF
Rest of the SEC and 2 shitty OOC games
LSU will have better wins than Arky and the losses between LSU, BAMA and Arky will cancel out at best for Arky.
In the end, LSU will have earned it more. PERIOD!

You can make an educated guess by looking at the past. Add that to the computer models (which lsumatt has nailed repeatedly) and you have a very accurate prediction.
