Just saying it's too early to be crowning TAMU like OP is.
Not crowning TAMU. I complimented their passing offense, their head coach, and their young talent. After last night if you can't do that I'm not sure you were paying attention.

I remember everyone over the summer saying TAMUs offense was going to take a huge step back. I corrected yall. The question becomes how do so many of you talk out of your asses instead of actually looking at the evidence at hand.

They can still outscore a lot of folks. Lets look at the evidence instead of your hopes and dreams.
QB - Kenny Hill will most likely win it. Go look up tape on him. He was efficient as a passer and great with his legs. Will do very well in this offense. Backup QB is a true freshman but a phenom in the making as well.
OLINE - very solid. I could usually say one of the best in the SEC, but the SEC is loaded with talented vet Olines this year (USCe, AU, LSU).
RBs - 2 very lalented ones. A big bruiser back in Carson and a smaller shifty back in Trey Williams. They have another back who is at least SEC-decent.
WRs - one of the best groups in the SEC. Noil, RSJ, Kennedy.
TE - Nice blocking TE in Cam Clear who is suppose to have an expanded role this year.
So no Johnny Football and Evans but still plenty of talent and a coach that knows how to use them.

Here is another factor:
In 2012-2013, Mike Evans was pretty much exclusively an outside receiver.
In 2014, Ricky Seals-Jones has spent most of his time in the SLOT
There is no nickelback, safety, or linebacker in the world that can cover a 6'6 240 lb receiver with 4.5 speed.
Let's look at the other receivers in the offense from last night:
Malcome Kennedy (6'0 205) - 14 catches, 137 yards
Josh Reynolds (6'4 190) - 6 catches, 76 yards, 1 TD
Ricky Seals-Jones (6'6 240) - 5 catches, 67 yards, 1 TD
Speedy Noil (5'11, 185) - 5 catches, 55 yards
Edward Pope (6'4, 180) - 4 catches, 75 yards, 1 TD
Add in a healthy Cameron Clear (6'6 277) and Frank Iheanacho once he gets his bearings as a true freshman (6'7 230) and that's a secondary's worst nightmare.

He's got a financial obligation in his contract to stay for the next 4 years I believe.
It's as if the Aggies have never been a part of big time football...oh wait.
You realize those coaching contracts mean precisely nothing, right?

This isn't how you slow down this offense.

It's not impossible. You can do what the pats did against Jimmy Graham- put your most physical corner on him. Most teams don't have that, which makes pressure with your front 4 paramount.

The $10 million buyout that any team hiring Sumlin owes to A&M does.

LSU has LB that can cover WR in space. Bama's are, or at least they have been, big run stoppers who lack the lateral quickness necessary to be assets against the Air Raid over the middle.
This I agree with.
I'll first say I was very impressed with A&M last night. Hill looked like a world beater, and the receivers never had to make a tough catch.
Their defense was improved, especially at the safety spot. That freshman 23 looked like Jordan out there.
But, still stand by my contention that Sumlin can't win championships with that offensive system. Like many before him and others today, it relies on playing pitch and catch TOO much.
This was late August, with optimum weather. Not going to stay that way. Look back at the LSU games the last 2 years. Windy in the first, windy and cold in the second. That offense just requires too much precision with no room for error.
It sure looks good when it's going though. And if defensive depth can withstand being on the field for more than half of the game, they can win a lot of games. But definitely not a season's worth of outdoor contests.
Have to be able to get short yardage and stop short yardage. Old school style.

it will not look as pretty with jon allen's shoulder pad in hill's chest...pressure is a game changer

A & M has lost 12 games in the last 3 years. Quit crowning them National Champions.

Your name fits you well. Go back to Texags. They will welcome you with open arms. Until and unless TAMU finds a SEC elite level defense, they will keep getting punched in the mouth by the likes of LSU and Bama.
