Missouri... The east was given to them. When Missouri would lose so would Georgia or Florida. Missouri has to be the worst east rep in the SEC championship game.

expansion is and will continue to be all about the money. old conference loyalties are nice but not relevant to the money issue. the fans' opinions are only relevant if they quit buying tickets and making donations.

the above are FACTS.

imo, college football is being ruined. the landscape has changed so much that the game itself is all that's keeping the enthusiasm strong. conferences will get so big that they will have to "split" into semi autonomous "conferences themselves. LSU can forget ever playing Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, etc except in the Conference Championship game.

in other words, we are moving to 4 super conferences which will contain 2 divisions each and an 8 team playoff (including the conference title game) will be played. our warm and fuzzy feeling about being southerners and our southeast conference pride will not mean shite. we've just about maxed out on the facilities race so our increased revenues will have to be spent on other things (or people). whippee!

i'm getting to where all I care about is LSU football. frick the conference, frick the other conferences and frick the playoffs (unless LSU is in them). and I pretty much am approaching the point where I don't care if LSU joins another conference, as long as its got some cool places to travel to. the big 12, sadly, is the closet and traveling to Lubbock, Waco, Kansas, etc would be disgusting.

False. People have been saying that since the 1980s and we aren't there still. The reason for that is we might never get there.

If the Big 12 choses correctly for expansion candidates it could stabilize. The ACC is more solid than it was a few years ago and no other Power 5 conference is looking like it will fold.

The only reason the SEC has 12 teams is for a championship game (something I assume every likes) and the only reason they went to 14 is the SEC Network (which I assume almost everyone here watches). It hasn't all been bad for the fans.

You can't quit us. Been a full year since we went to Atlanta and teams in the West are still talking about us. Anyone with eyes could tell the Mizzou vs Auburn game was a toss up until the 4th quarter. Our OL had 4 guys get drafted off that squad. The Bama game was over when Ray got thrown out by half. Mauk didn't have enough coke to keep us close.

Dude, they are SEC. We can't take it back.

Yep. And we like it here.

I wouldn't mind an expansion, if it got the SEC to a four division system where we got to visit non-division schools more than once every 12 years. Twelve years between visits to Oxford is too long. Looking forward to checking out LSU this year.
