Are you really going to use the special olympics in an analogy and then refer to olympic medals as "metals" twice?

not always. some become so institutionalized that they commit a crime as soon as they get out because they don't know how to exist in the real world and want to go back to prison where "they run shite"

If we add the right schools we would be in stronger position if and when other conferences expand.
However in my schools to add list, I only have schools that will bring something to the table: Texas, Oklahoma, FSU, Miami, UNC, and maybe a couple others.

What, as a fan, do you get out of this? Bama can always schedule these teams if they want to. I just dont get the reasoning. Why would you want to make it almost impossible for your team to win a conference title?

Also this wasnt a thread to bag on Mizzou so apologies if it came across that way. No I dont really think they are a good fit for the SEC but that doesnt mean they contribute nothing.

I just dont see the reasoning to try and bunch so many good athletic programs into one conference. Just like everything in life, there is a point of diminishing returns. Having other good conferences is a good thing for collegiate athletics.

they field a football team, that seems like all they need to fit in a conference.

Who does win from expansion, exactly? Missouri has been a complete and utter disaster since joining the SEC. Their programs are falling apart and culturally they just are not a fit. A&M fits culturally but are the fans really that happy?

Then what would your solution be? 14 teams doesn't make good scheduling possibilities, nobody wants to give up annual rivalries, 4 Eastern schools were already playing a P5 team that are in-state rivalries, the endless arguments on # of conf. games, ......

So either we shrink the # of teams per conference or add more to help alleviate those issues.

FYI, shrinking #'s would increase the # of conferences, which would change the P5 to P#!

&, in my opinion, if every conference was identical in #'s & scheduling, we could have a solid discussion on who's better than whom.

Cool. I actually used the rainbow "celebrate pride" filter on my Facebook profile pic to honor you and your A&M buddies recently.

FSU is playing UF and Ole Miss this year. They've already dropped Miami from their schedule. Guess they didn't see any "value" in keeping them on schedule, so why would you add them to the conference. UNC will play UGA this year.

This is why the SEC has 4 non-conference games. We can schedule whoever we believe benefits our conference. Why limit the SEC by adding additional teams with small or duplicate markets (outside of UNC)?

Right, and where are they now? What did those SECCG appearances do for them? The program is in terrible shape.

With the right coach they'll be fine. What sort of world of absolutes do you live in?

FSU couldn't drop MIami, MIami is a ACC team and the game is scheduled by the conference.

This. Missouri and A&M needed the money badly. Aggy was in financial straits when the SEC threw them a lifejacket.

In return for your money, you picked up two patsies and opened the state of Texas up for cherrypicking recruits by the Alabamas, LSUs and Floridas of the world while aggy sits in the corner, whimpering and pulling their puds.
