With the way the game played out, I doubt LSU would have won, but you can't help but wonder what might have happened if Lee was given the start during that game.

I understand that the coaching staff believed Jefferson's mobility might give Alabama's defense a little trouble like it did in the first game, but it was pretty clear that wasn't the case early on.

Even a few points in that game might have mentally gotten LSU into it. The team just never, at any point, looked remotely interested in the game. The defense played well for a while, but they all just seemed flat.

I still haven't seen the game, I got summoned to the hospital during it and haven't ever watched a replay. It's for the best

Jarret Lee should have never been stripped of his starting QB position. Lee struggled during 9-6 and Miles panicked and yanked him. McCarron was having a bad game too, but it was just 2 great defenses. The only difference between 9-6 and 21-0 was that AJ got much better. JJ did not.

The one thing about that game is the LSU defense played fricking hard.

They got the garbage TD at the end, but our boys played their arse off considering what Jefferson did.

Another thing I remember from that year was that LSU played a pretty good schedule both OOC and in conference and absolutely blew the doors off everyone, and beat an outstanding Alabama team at their place.

Definitely might have been the greatest regular season resume seen in a long while. That team might have been one great QB away from all-time greatness.

Regardless, I think the 2011 national championship game had two of the best teams of the BCS era in it.

The game was still very much undecided at the half, any kind of offensive adjustment couldn't have hurt.

I would like to know how many players from both sides were drafted or on the NFL right now. Staggering

What is so puzzling? They got face raped by a superior team.

I went to the AU/LSU game this year and saw those plaques you guys hang outside Tiger Stadium (to honor All-Americans, IIRC).

It was amazing seeing all the talent on defense LSU had in 2011. Those two defenses were absolutely amazing.

It's at around 35 now going into this draft.

Have a chance to break the Miami/OSU championship record from 2001
