If an AD fires a coach mid season, no problem. If a coach resigns mid season, it's a crime. Spurrier has pulled star QBs in mid game if he felt they couldn't cut it. He fired himself mid season because he could not do what the job reauired anymore. Steve Spurrier has never been a quitter, he won the Trophey as a player, he won it as a coach. The man is a winner, he's 70 years old, he knew USC would not fire him, so he pulled himself. frick you, even though you are trolling, frick you.

Spurrier attacked sports columnists if they criticized him. Got Ron MOrris fired at The State newspaper.

He was basically Hugo Chavez.

his reign of tyranny is now over. freedom of press exists once again in the sports media.

Spurrier understood that he was going to follow up his 5 wins in row over Clemson with 10 straight losses. he wanted to deprive Dabo the satisfaction.

i think he was more concerned with losing to Tennessee for the third straight year, seriously

. Plus USC has a chance to find another HC before or soon after this season runs its course. To me that's much better for recruiting.

he couldn't announce his intention to retire at season's end and accomplish the same thing?

This is the stupidous argument or statement I've seen in a while. SOS must have whipped your teams arse at some point and more than once.
