Considering SC had only won a 1969 ACC championship before Spurrier arrived. I'd say he's done a great job.
Nobody does less with more than Mark Richt.

I have lived 18 years in Columbia, SC. USC fans have experienced their greatest 4 year period of football since arriving in the SEC.

Spurrier has risen the expectations of many fans and they now believe that they will win a SEC title. Unfortunately, USC has lost at least one game that has cost them an East title the last few years like the 2013 loss to Tenn.

Spurrier has brought in great talent and in state guys have started coming more and more.

So in 9 years, USC has improved facilities, talent, and have been competitive by beating Florida and Georgia more often than ever before.....Auburn and LSU...not so much!

I have been impressed with what Spurrier has done for the South Carolina as well as the rivarly with Clemson.

Neither program will win anything of any importance anytime soon

No care.

However, if Spurrier has truly elevated SCAR to a decent level, you would not be taking the place normally reserved for rent-a-wins by being the home coming opponent.

Not a SouCar hater and i absolutely hate threads like this. But, since you brought granny up....how old are the cheerleaders now from when South Carolina won their last Natty?

I think we had LSU as homecoming in '10.

Dude, that game was a rent-a-win.

IMHO, after this year, he's had enough time to make SCe a "brand". #4 in the country and the #1 draft pick means to me that a championship should be imminent. SC fans should think about canning Spurrier if he doesn't wreck shite this year. They need a fresh, somewhat young coach like Jimbo at the helm and they can be like their baseball teams of late.

They would've been in a BCS game if not for the stupid 2-team-per-conference-limit rule.

If we canned Spurrier we might as well never ever think that we'd be able to hire a decent coach again.

And again, Muschamp has done the same as Richt since coming here in '11. Doesn't say much about the latter.

But then you could also say they shot themselves in the foot earlier in the season though. SCAR would've trashed AU in the SECCG IMO.
