Why would you need CBs that can be put on an island if he's not bringing pressure and he's just trying to play contain?
Because the QB has all day to throw.

yes, but LSU fans are convinced that they don't need a qb because they beat Aggie. And Fournette will just rush for 3,000 years anyway..
and haven't you heard Manziel was only 3*, so LSU's 2* could be like Manziel.

Don't you think having an offense that puts your D on the field for 40 minutes constitutes a problem?
This is the root of the problem with spread offense/fast pace teams. They thrive in back and forth, high-scoring games when their offense can build momentum. But encounter an offense who controls the clock, wears the defense down over the course of 4 quarters, not allowing the offense to get into a groove, and the spread offense/defense is negated. I think this is why you haven't seen A&M have much success against the Bama's and LSUs's of the conference. I'm not sure any defensive coordinator could change that. It's a difference in total team philosophies.

Think about the DBs LSU has had under Chavis, and ask yourself one question: "Why did they NEVER have a #1 passing D, and only half the time were they ranked in the top 10."
The answer: Chavis' scheme doesn't generate much pressure on the QB.
That's why you need CBs that can be put on an island.

What 2* QB are you referencing?

Isn't TCU a spread quick scoring offense?
Where did their Defense rank?
...
Justin McMillan

And the BIG 12 is filled with Spread offenses. A&M has had success against the spread teams in the SEC. My point was that a team with a fast-paced offensive identity, has a very hard time against a big and physical ground and pound type offensive identity.

No they aren't you stupid fricking troll.

Justin McMillan won't see the field and I have not heard anything resembling he would be Manziel caliber.

No one is expecting him to see playing time for a while. Harris and Franks are the QB's of the future.

Losing to a team during their Great Declination 4x in a row is enough punishment as it is..
