Those are all reasonable options, but LSU's Kevin Steele seems like the most obvious choice.

First of all, LSU under John Chavis boasted the SEC's top total defense (ranking ninth nationally, plus the No. 5 scoring defense, which trailed only Ole Miss in the SEC) in 2014. Second, Steele takes over a unit with no glaring holes on the roster. The Tigers return six starters from their bowl game against Notre Dame and most of the key reserves.

Will be interesting to see if he can keep the momentum going.

Makes sense.

I predict there will be a lot of upset people in this thread, for some reason.

Keep in mind, LSU fans, it only takes one year to dismantle the greatness of a defense. Auburn had a run of great defenses under Tommy Tuberville, including 2008, until Gene Chizik and Ted Roof were hired in 2009.

Auburn still hasn't recovered.

I don't understand all the popcorn eating

No LSU fan has thought Steele was coming into a bad situation. Everyone has just thought Chavis was foolish for walking away from a defense loaded with future NFL players.
