State's offense looked good in our spring game.

Maybe our new defense is bad and made the offense look better, I don't know. Or less rushing the qb. Spring games can be like that.

But Lebby's offense will score some points this year.

If Shapen can stay healthy, and that has been an issue for him, he's going to be pretty good. Way better than what we've had at QB for a while.

Yeah. That’s always the thing for every team. Is the offense really good or defense really bad, and vice versa.

Is Lebby doing the playcalling as HC?

The only thing I'm really counting on from the Hawg's spring game is that our new QB throws the ball without a ten second windup. I'm not a KJ hater but my God it took him forever to release the ball on a pass.

It’s hard to really gauge how good an offense or a defense is as a unit in spring games because it’s usually a beyond vanilla defense. Basically one set away from two-hand touch. But you can usually notice some individual performances.

Not sure just how much of our offensive success was contributed to Lebby, but the offense certainly clicked while he was here.

I hope he will provide us stability at the HC position and our offense can’t be any worse than last year and certainly I hope to see some improvement.
Can we keep a salty defense as well. For the most part our defense was good last year especially the second half of the season. Lot of new players there so we will see.

Ole Miss is really set up for a big year this upcoming season. You guys have all the pieces in place.

Don't you hate that MSU now has Libby as their HC?

Not really. He’s an unknown as far as head coaching goes and we’re doing just fine without him.

Good coordinators don’t always make for good head coaches.

It’s the ultimate little brother move.
They hired Ole Miss OC to be HC.
We hired States HC to be an unpaid intern.

It depends on an improved line, defense, and depth. We improve those first two and manage to stay healthy, we could make a decent run in the playoffs.

As it is, I think it’s a successful season with a playoff appearance.

I generally am more alarmed at a high scoring spring game.

Most spring games are high scoring. It’s incredibly vanilla defense and it’s mainly for fan enjoyment.

Did you mean low scoring?

Under Saban most of Alabama spring games were like 10-7 or 17-14 type scores. I dunno, i guess we could both be right as it really depends on the philosophy of the head coach.

We had a Croom spring game end at 7-0. I’ll take a higher scoring one with a defensive unknown.

I trust you, because a Reb would definitely know what a bad defense looks like

Forget the stats when it comes to spring games. What you look for is effort, big playmakers, focus, etc.

I saw good things. New QB is very accurate and has potential to be great

Offense was extremely crisp for the high tempo we ran, made hardly no errors or penalties. Impressive for such a short time for Lebby to implement

It was exciting and we looked well coached and a few new players stood out. About as good as you can ask for

I’m loving the Lebby hire. I think our ceiling is 6 or 7 wins, but he is a very smart guy that I think will get maximum effort and he will squeeze every ounce of ability we have on the field. Great hire.
