Venables would be good. He was a good recruiter at Oklahoma.

Apparently Pruitt is retarded compared to the other candidates.

I really like what I read about Moorhead.

Considered the #1 assistant in the nation
Was a successful head coach at the FCS level
Was a successful Power 5 coordinator
Offensive innovator

Only thing that worries me is the unknowns with his staff. Feel like Venables would bring on some known coaches.

Either would be a home run for State imo

Apparently Pruitt is a dumb country redneck. John Cohen, the MSU AD, really values intelligence. Both Venables and Moorhead come off sharp.

He actually said that Franklin was scrambling until he hired him and is something like 23-5 since.

That Pruitt stuff doesn't surprise me.

Moorehead is a very interesting candidate and the type of guy State should 100% take a shot on. He excels at scheming and finding ways to use his guys in the best way possible. Perfect fit.

Also, he took over a terrible Fordham program and they were a Top 15 program in 1AA when he left.

Moorehead checks basically every box I could ask for except SEC experience. Particularly with recruiting - there's very likely to be growing pains there unless we surround him with known quantities as recruiters. We already have enough handicaps getting talent to Starkville as-is. Hope we don't make it too much harder on ourselves.

Yeah he said Moorhead reminded him of Mullen. Creative and sharp.
