I know I'll get killed for this, but I expect MSU to win. Screw the narratives. Will I be in complete shock if we lose, no, but I think we should win this game at home.

Those ringing cowbells done made you retarded. LSU 42-10

State - LSU predictions? by GeorgeWest
State better worry about their game at Ruston Day Care Center this Saturday.

Yeah because what's posted on this board affects how they play right? Dumbass. We could jump all the way to discussing the egg bowl if we want here. Doesn't mean the team is looking ahead.

Why?

I think our defensive talent talent paired with Grantham's aggressive style will cause big problems for Guice and Etling. Speaking of Etling, he's a good experienced player, but I don't think he has "it." I think our offensive line is good. It may not have looked all in tact last week, but we cycled a bunch of guys in and out in attempt to give guys reps. In short, I think our defense can match LSU's at home and I give the offensive edge to MSU for fairly obvious reasons. Not being unrealistic here, but why shouldn't we win this game?

Let's get a win over LA Tech first. It might change after the weekend but I'm going with 20-17 State

State won't put up 20 on LSU. 14 I could see but not 20. We do well against mobile QBs.

State doesn't have enough depth to slow Guice down. He may not get much the first half but he's going to break at least 2 long runs against State in the second half for TDs. Your defense (starters) may be good but your backups are not ready for SEC talent yet.

Anyone can find one play to fit a narrative. And that was literally LSUs worst year in decades.

Do you think your defense is better than LSU's defense. Surely you don't, so I'm guessing you think your offense is. As long as were talking about should, LSU should be better than MSU in every facet of the game. You do have home field though.

As stated already, I don't blame you for believing your team can win, but objectively it isn't likely. LSU will be favored, and few if any people with a reputation will pick MSU.

Understand. But at the same time, it is about as valid as some of the other LSU fans (not you) trying to link the last 25 years to this year. In other words, it is pointless.

All I know is State vs LSU has been a very tight series since 2014. I don't see any reason that is going to change this year.

It should be a good game. State looks like a strong team this year. I'm banking on a 14 to 20 LSU type game but it could be something like 14 to 17 State.

It's not pointless when the talent gap is significant. There is a reason MSU has only beaten LSU once in 20 years, and it isn't just luck.

I guess we'll see. I would argue that this State team is very, very talented though. Is LSU more talented? Of course. But let's not sit here and act like we've been recruiting at Vandy level.

And let's not forget that prior to Mullen, State was no where near competitive. It takes time when you've been as abysmal as we have historically. But we've been much more competitive against LSU lately.

Sherrill had some good years and managed a win against LSU during his best season. Mullen did the same already.

Sherrill also buried our program in probation.
