Thoughts?
SC will have the best pitching staff in the SEC. We'll be favored to win the SEC next year, not just repeat as the East Champs.
We lost DTW and Cone at the plate, but we're stacked with Top5 Recruiting classes and we have Carlos Cortez coming in, who was one of the best pure hitters in HS last year.
We'll also have a full year under our belt with the new DeMarini bats we switched to.

Fla has heavy losses.
Ole Miss will be in OMAHA for sure, Ole Miss At Home Again

Florida has heavy losses in pitching no doubt, but still have
Alex Faedo
Brady Singer
Jackson Kowar
that's a pretty solid nucleus. Entire lineup back except Alonso and Buddy Reed--and Reed was overrated. Great potential but not there yet.
They are gonna be in the mix.

Didn't read but LSU should win it all and probably will.

Deichmann just wasn't very good at any infield position they put him in last year. He didn't even look comfortable making the routine plays at first so I think CPM will try to hide him more in the outfield. His bat could be one of the best in college but he made too many errors to play infield.
I didn't expect Poche to be back either but he still hasn't signed and they are running out of cap space so you never know. Pitching will be strength either way.
Chris Reid is a good player but doesn't really do anything that makes him stand out. But he was a freshman also so I don't really want to critique him to badly because he had a better freshman year than most guys have. Will be interesting to see how he develops over the summer / fall.

This is a lot of effort for a niche sport.

Yeah, east predictions are pretty solid. Florida, Vand and SC the favorites. The rest chasing. West is an honest toss up. Pretty loaded again.

Did you take a stupid pill before typing this? He was consistent on offense and defense all season. Being on base a lot and regularly making plays on defense stands out to most people I'd think

Only thing mizzou has going for them is having a player who may be drafted #1

A&M is replacing quite a bit on offense. Pitching should still be damn good. Probably better. We'll have new comers and young guys take leaps yearly. Shouldn't be terrible on offense either.

Like I said, Chris Reid is a good player but look at his stats. He hit .287 with a .371 slugging and only had 11 xbh for the entire year. His fielding was a pretty dismal .909 and he didn't do anything of note in terms of stolen bases.
So again, a good player who did very well for a freshman but nothing about those stats is great.

Can we just give Eddie Furniss some fountain of youth water? Deichmann batting third, with Furniss at clean-up... :slobberemoj:

So much for the Latz speculation.

We're getting Rooker and Kruger back in the lineup. Our starting pitchers are gone.

Possible b/c the SEC will down relatively speaking.
If Suchey and Clark get to campus it will help.
Walters & Love should be a good 1-2 punch on the weekend.
Goff may have one good year with Gaspard's players.

Gaspard's recruiting fell off. Which was his selling point to get the job in 2010. Goff will do fine. Give him time. He's a winner.
