Interesting that LYLE and VOLS were the straw that broke ol' SpurDog's back:
LYLE doin' werk
"Tennessee loss in OT knocked me in the ground. I couldn't sleep at night and called the team pyschologist."

In his defense losing to Tennessee is pretty embarrassing.

VOLS made his arse quit?
Sounds like fair payback for all the sleepless nights he gave the collective VOLS fanbase back in the 90's at Florida imo

If by "psychological help" you mean a suitcase of Coors Light, then yes you are correct

VOLS did in fact make that arse quit
quote:
Steve Spurrier was back in Columbia and did an interview with a local TV station to explain his leaving in mid-season since he said he did not explain it very well when he left. Lots of things were going wrong that season but according to him the straw that broke the camel's back (my words) was the Tennessee game loss. After that he said he could not sleep and had psychological problems, perhaps anxiety attacks. He even sought psychological help from the team psychologist. Then he said he looked in the mirror one morning and said to himself that he could no longer coach--he has said that before.
it was a brief, candid, and revealing interview and appeared to be something he wanted to get off his chest. It even seemed, at least to me, he might have requested the interview.
All those years of smart arse remarks about UT and then we are the school that gave him his most dramatic loss, to the point of him quitting in mid-season. What goes around....

This is a damn lie and the exact reason Dabo Swinney has a more recent SEC Championship while coaching under Mike DuBose than Tennessee.

Sorry VOLS do not harbor criminals, brush felonies under the rug, and prevent our student athletes from terrorizing the local community

Who are the 5? Just to make sure we aren't left out. He saw the loss coming this year to Arkansas.

You are aware that there's an entire off season award called "The Fulmer Cup" that ranks teams based on off season arrests, right?
You had a WR arrested for domestic assault just this year. Last year you had a former lineman arrested in a child sex sting, and a DT arrested for aggravated assault of an ex girlfriend. In 2014, you had NINE players arrested in one incident. And Janzen Jackson is still in jail for murder.

You honestly did the man a favor. Better to retire than continue to flounder at USCe.

Everybody knows it was really Clemson that did it

VOLS have never won the Fulmer Cup iirc.
Also, Alabama fan user Tuscaloosa you should show a little more respect to your biological father, Phillip E. Fulmer imo. He was not a cheater but a champion and a man of conviction

Saban made his arse quit and sent Tennessee into a perpetual state of dumpster fire. Bama gets the last laugh.
